AUS-W vs JM-W Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

It’s the final group game and the last throw of the dice for Australia’s ambitions to qualify for the last-16 when they play Jamaica at Stade des Alpes.

Group C so far:

  • Italy have emerged as one of the dark horses for the coveted trophy. If beating the mighty Australians on matchday-1 was a testament of Le Azzurre‘s growing prowesses, the 5-0 drubbing of Jamaica showed that Milena Bertolini’s team can’t be taken as a team which is making its first appearance in the world cup since 1999. Right now they are sitting atop the group and should qualify to the next round as group leaders.
  • As mentioned, Australia lost their first game 1-2, but a 2-3 comeback win over Brazil have brought them right into the contention for qualification to the next round.
  • The Aussies can’t afford to drop points, for a draw between Italy and Brazil in the other game may knock them out of the competition.

  • For Jamaica, it’s all about the pride now. Their vastly inferior goal difference means, even a win against the Australians, no matter how improbable it may look, won’t be enough to see them finish 3rd in the group.
  • It’s worth mentioning that four best 3rd placed teams from each group will qualify for the next round, alongwith the top two teams.
