Injured – Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland will be missing the game with an injury.
Suspended – None.
Doubtful – While center-back James Chester is lacking the required match fitness and is expected to miss the game.
Note: Manager Dean Smith is facing a dilemma regarding the goalkeeper situation. Jed Steer has done well ever since he was called upon to deputize but first-choice goalie Lovre Kalinic is back from injury and is pushing for a start.
Villa made wholesale changes against Norwich City at the weekend with two of them being Jack Grealish and John McGinn, while Tammy Abraham, Tyrone Mings and Ahmed Elmohamady were absent as well and will be coming into the side.

Suspended – Hal Robson-Kanu kicked out at a Derby player at the weekend and will be serving a suspension.
