  • Brazil will be without superstar Neymar after the Paris Saint-Germain playmaker suffered ankle ligament damage in one of Brazil’s warm-up games.
  • Barcelona midfielder Arthur will be missing the opener as well after picking up a knock during Brazil’s warm-up game against Honduras.
  • Tite named Chelsea winger Willian as the replacement for the former Barcelona player.

  • Midfielder Fabinho, who starred for Liverpool in the 2nd half of the season and helped the Reds bag their sixth European title, was controversially overlooked. The former Monaco man is not part of the squad.

Full Brazil squad for the tournament:

  • Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Ederson, Cássio
  • Defenders:  Miranda, Éder Militão, Thiago Silva, Filipe Luís, Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Fagner,  Alex Sandro
  • Midfielders: Arthur, Philippe Coutinho, Casemiro, Allan, Lucas Paquetá, Fernandinho

Possible ins or outs of this game:

  • With both Alisson and Ederson in the squad, one of them will have to be on the bench. Though we expect Tite to go with Alisson in goal.
  • Dani Alves is the captain of the team and will surely be on the right side of the defence, with his club teammates Thiago Silva and Marquinhos partnering at the centre. Felipe Luis should start at left-back.
  • With Arthur put, Tite could go either with Fernandinho or Allan in the midfield.
  • Philippe Coutinho may start in the midfield if David Neres starts the match.
  • While Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmono will battle for a place in the starting 11.

Probable XI:

Alisson (GK), Alves, Marquinhos, Silva, Luis, Arthur, Fernandinho, Richarlison, Coutinho, Neres, Jesus / Firmino
