Everton played perhaps their best football under Marco Silva in the last two months or so. All the voices questioning the manager’s tactics and asking for his head feels muffled now.

However, the Toffees have underperformed for far too long than expected. Their current 9th position on the table is not a good reflection of the talent that Silva has at his disposal.

But Everton added too many players to their roster last season and throw in a new manager to their transition, they were always going to take time before they could remold into a perfect unit.

It has taken time, but Everton look more of a team now. Four wins in the last six league games is a good return for the team considering three of those games were against the big boys Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. The Toffees won all those games by an aggregate 7-0 scoreline.

Everton are now 9th on the table, having accumulated 50 points from 36 games. But their inconsistent form throughout the season means Marco Silva’s team was always playing catchup for the 7th place. As things stand, four points separate them from Wolves in seventh.

Burnley meanwhile have shown good form over the last month or so. They were unbeaten in four before losing 0-1 to Manchester City last weekend.

Not the worst of the result against the reigning champions and also due to the fact that they secured their Premier League status two weeks ago.

The Clarets could move to 13th on the table with a win at Goodison Park.
