Chelsea Team News:

Out: Chelsea have been hit with a major blow ahead of this game after N'Golo Kante returned from the international duty with a groin injury. The Frenchman is joined by German centre-back Antonio Rudiger on the sideline for this game.

Andreas Christensen suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Denmark and has been ruled out for two weeks. Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains a long-term absentee.

Doubtful: Emerson has given Frank Lampard a huge boost ahead of this game as he returned to the training this week. The 25-year-old sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Italy back in September and returned for Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool, only to suffer another setback in the first half of the 2-1 defeat.

Mateo Kovacic and Reece James are both carrying knocks and the duo will be monitored before the game.

Steve Bruce will also deal without the absence of Isaac Hayden. The 24-year-old serves a suspension here following his red card dismissal in the 5=-0 thrashing against Leicester City.

Doubtful: No other injury concerns for Steve Bruce. He is likely to stick with the playing 11 which beat Manchester united 1-0 before the international break.

Newcastle United Probable XI:

Dubravka (GK), Yedlin, Schar, Lascelles, Clark, Willems, Saint-Maximin, Sean Longstaff, Matthew Longstaff, Almiron, Joelinton
