GED vs CHQ Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

Table-toppers Guangzhou Evergrande will be looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table when they host Chongqing Lifan in the midweek action in the Chinese Super League at Tianhe Stadium.

No stopping Fabio Cannavaro’s men!

Last weekend’s game between Guangzhou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan was labelled as a fixture which could infuse life back into the league. But for that to happen, Guoan needed to beat the leaders.

Cannavaro, though, ended up enhancing his own reputation even further as the last defender to win the Ballon d’Or orchestrated a brilliant 1-3 win on the road, precisely, at the home of their nearest rivals in the league.

With just 8 games to go, Evergrande’s 7 point lead should propel them to yet another league title.

Reality dawning on Lifan!

Chongqing Lifan’s set out for a new season with an aim to secure the AFC football for the next season. But a bad start to the season cost them dearly, and even the recent recovery seems short at the moment.

Guangzhou Evergrande Team News:

  • Left-back Yu Hanchao, who can also play as a  left-winger, misses out with an injury.
  • Young defender Yan Dinghao will also miss the match with a knee injury.

Possible ins and Outs of this game:

  • Considering how Evergrande have gone about their business in the last two months or so, Fabio Cannavaro has little reasons to tempt with his playing 11 here.
  • That said, Brazilian Anderson Talisca has been used sparsely since coming back from injury and will no doubt be looking for a berth in the starting 11.
  • Cannavaro is expected to name either Zheng Zhi or Xu Xin as a replacement for the injured Yan Dinghao.

Guangzhou Evergrande Probable XI: Liu Dianzuo (GK), Li Xuepeng, Gao Zhunyi, Park Ji-Soo, Zhang Linpeng, Huang Bowen, Zheng Zhi, Paulinho, Wei Shihao, Elkeson, Yang Liyu

Chongqing Lifan Team News:

  • Lifan’s super striker Alan Kardec is ruled out with an injury.
  • Chen Lei picked up his fifth booking of the season and is set to serve a one-game suspension here.

Possible ins and Outs of this game:

  • Yin Congyao is set to lead the lines for the visitors in the absence of Alan Kardec.
  • While Marcinho and Adrian Mierzejewski will provide support in attack.

Chongqing Lifan Probable XI (Very tentative): Sui Weijie (GK), Dilmurat Mawlanyaz, Yang Shuai, Yuan Mincheng, Liu Le, Fernandinho Silva, Ding Jie, Liu Senwen, Marcinho, Adrian Mierzejewski, Yin Congyao

Likely to score:

  • For Guangzhou Evergrande – Elkeson, Wei Shihao
  • For Chongqing Lifan Marcinho, Adrian Mierzejewski, Yin Congyao

Captain and Vice-Captain options:

Elkeson: The 30-year-old has been a revelation of sorts in the Chinese Super League. He had even made the already strong Guangzhou Evergrande even more formidable. For the captain option in the Dream11 team, he looks a good fit.

  • Assists: 03
  • Likely impact: positive
  • Odds to score a goal in this match: 4/5
  • Likely points (without scoring): +08

Wei Shihao: Considering six of the 9 goals he scored in the league this season came in the last nine matches, makes him a very potent player on current form. Unmissable.

  • Assists: 06
  • Likely impact: positive
  • Odds to score a goal in this match: 3/5
  • Likely points (without scoring): +06

More options:

Yang Liyu: He may have gone four games without scoring a goal, but the 22-year-old is one of the first names on Cannavaro’s starting 11. His overall contribution speaks for the impact he has had this season.
