With each passing week, it’s looking highly unlikely that Fulham will be in the Premier Legaue next season. Or if they are to do it, they may have to do it by fighting against the history to become the first ever team to come from a 13-point deficit to avoid the drop.

The biggest deficit a team has managed to evaporate in the history of Premier League is 10 points which West Ham achieved in 2006-07.

But the caretaker manager Scott Parker is hopeful that his team can still make the cut. He is targetting one win to kick start the process, and in particular against Liverpool.

“There’s only so many more weeks I can go on saying I believe we can stay up, but one result can kick-start something and we have the quality to try and do that,” Parker said.

“When you look at how many games we need to win I understand it will be very difficult but while there’s still points it’s possible.”

Indeed, the time is running out for Fulham. The fixture list is not benign as well. After the game against Jurgen Klopp’s men, they will be hosting Manchester City after the international break, followed by an away trip against Watford and then a home match against Everton.

In some sense, the upcoming matches against City and Liverpool in the league may decide Fulham’s future.

Fulham’s biggest problem has been their defense. They have shipped a whopping 68 goals with only two teams conceding more than them at this stage of the competition.

For Liverpool, time is a luxury they can’t afford. They are the closest to challenge the might of Manchester City, sitting only one point behind the reigning champions on the table.

However, even that margin feels big considering City are more than capable of winning their next 8 matches. The best Liverpool can hope is to keep picking up points and hope City to falter somewhere.

The best chance to land a psychological blow on Pep Guardiola’s team comes this weekend. The Cityzens are not in league action due to their participation in the FA Cup, and a win for the Reds will take them to the very summit of the table.

LIV vs FUL Dream11 FANTASY TEAM:
Sadio Mane missed the training this week and is a doubt.

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
Fulham have lost 8 of their last nine games, and the last six heading into this match. They could still avoid the drop but need to win six of their last 8 games to stand any chance. But from a side which has won just 4 games all season, it’s a huge ask.
Liverpool have lost just once this season and must be high on confidence after a 1-3 win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
A win for the Reds is our call.
