MCI vs LEI Dream11 Prediction: Manchester City welcome Leicester City at home on what is a late kick-off on Super Sunday. This is only Manchester City’s third game of the season, winning both their previous games – 3-1 away at Wolves and 2-1 at home to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup. Depleted by a long injury list, Manchester City will find it difficult to contain Leicester but these are situations where a top manager like Pep Guardiola will bring his experience in. Leicester, on the other hand, has played 3 games and won 2 of them, losing one game. They beat West Bromwich Albion 3-0 away from home on the opening matchday and then proceeded to beat Burnley 4-2, armed with some new signings like Timothy Castagne and Cengiz Under who is yet to make a start for the side. Unfortunately, they got knocked out of the EFL Carabao Cup to Arsenal after losing 2-0 to the Gunners. Leicester City will rue their poor form towards the end of last season that cost them a spot in this season’s Champions League. Brendan Rodgers will be wary of that and will want to get as many points as possible at these early stages. Rodgers will also know that Man City will be vulnerable to look to draw first blood.

Who will win today’s match?

Bookmakers are heavily favouring Manchester City to win this game, offering odds of 3/10. Pep Guardiola will be happy playing a side like Leicester at home during the opening days of the season and with their injury list, they will need all the luck they can get. Being without the likes of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte, Manchester City will have to do well to beat the foxes. Leicester City have troubles of their own with Wilfred Ndidi needing surgery and Namplys Mendy replacing him. Ndidi was a very important player for them in defensive midfield and Mendy will have the tough task of keeping Kevin de Bruyne out of the game. Young James Justin will also be deputized with handling Raheem Sterling and if he manages to pull that off, he will have a great game on his resume. Despite there being a huge quality gap on paper, in football things can go either way and Leicester has been one of the teams to be feared for a while now. But City will gather confidence from their game against Wolves where they took down a very good side with ease. Check out our MCI vs LEI Dream11 Match Predictions.

Captain options

Raheem Sterling – In the absence of a proper striker like Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, the pressure will be on Raheem Sterling to step-up and score the goals that matter and there is a good chance that Guardiola starts him as a striker as well. The Englishman scored a massive 31 goals and provided 10 assists last season and will look to replicate those numbers this season as Man City look to take back the Premier League title.

Jamie Vardy – Through their tough days and glory days, Jamie Vardy has been a mainstay at the club and consistently scored goals for them. He already scored 2 goals this season and 23 goals and 7 assists last season. He is also not ruffled by playing against the bigger and tougher either and takes all challenges head-on. His goals and overall form will be crucial to Leicester City’s final place in the table.

Kevin de Bruyne – Kevin de Bruyne’s importance to this side can not be stated enough. He had 16 goals and 23 assists last season and kicked off this season with a goal and an assist against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening game day. He will look to link-up with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling to test the Leicester City defence.

X-factors (differential picks) Bottom of Form

Youri Tielemans – The Belgian midfielder has been a great player for the Foxes over the years. He will look to take some long shots at test Ederson from distance. He will also look to create chances for Jamie Vardy and he also created about 60 chances and provided 54 key passes last season in the Premier League.

Riyad Mahrez – He moved to Manchester City where he scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in the 2018/19 season and 13 goals and 16 assists last season. With injuries to Bernardo Silva at the moment, that right-wing spot is his for the taking if he can impress Guardiola in this time, he can make that position his own but it will take a lot for him to dethrone Bernardo from his spot.

James Maddison – James Maddison had a poor season in terms of goals and assists (6 goals and 3 assists) in the Premier League but had a pretty lucrative statistically. He provided 79 key passes and created 82 chances last season, along with whipping 60 successful crosses. Putting up these numbers alongside Youri Tielemans and playing behind Jamie Vardy can cause a lot of problems to the Manchester City defence.
