MIL vs TOR Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

AC Milan prepare to head to Turin for their crunch Serie A game against Torino at Olympic Grande Torino Stadium.

Head coach Marco Giampaolo is already feeling the heat following the topsy-turvy start to the new season. While a lot of media outlets in Italy indicate that Milan management is not happy with the way the club is playing and could take a harsh decision in the coming weeks if the results do not improve.

As things stand, Rossoneri are 10th on the points table, a huge nine points behind league leaders Inter Milan already.

Torino, meanwhile, come into this match looking to avoid three successive defeats. But Walter Mazzarri’s record is a good indication that the hosts could snap their skid here. The former Watford boss faced Milan nine times as a manager and is yet to lose a game (5 Wins, 4 Draws).

The Serie A match will be played between Torino and AC Milan at Olympic Grande Torino Stadium, in Turin, Italy. The ground has a capacity of 28,177.

Torino Team News:

Left-back Cristian Ansaldi has fully recovered from a knee injury he suffered in the opening game against Sassuolo. The 33-year-old has been named in the squad and is available for selection.

While the 23-year-old midfielder Sasa Lukic missed the last game due to a knock and has failed to make the cut for this game as well.

Torino squad for the home clash against AC Milan:

  • Goalkeepers: Rosati, Sirigu, Ujkani
  • Defenders: Aina, Ansaldi, Bonifazi, Bremer, De Silvestri, Djidji, Izzo, Laxalt, Lyanco, Nkoulou
  • Midfielders: Baselli, Berenguer, Meite, Rincon
  • Attackers: Belotti, Edera, Falque, Millico, Verdi, Zaza

Mazzarri’s changing backline:

Mazzarri is yet to name the same backline in two consecutive games this season. But the fact that a lot of first-team players have returned fit to the squad, we could see changes here as well.

Diego Laxalt is fit now but has featured from the bench in the last two games. The former AC Milan star could be included in the starting 11 here.

Armando Izzo and Kevin Bonifazi should be the part of the three-man backline with either Koffi Djidji, Gleison Bremer or Lyanco starting alongside the duo.

But the midfield and the attack could be the same:

Tomás Rincón and Daniele Baselli are both the first choice in Mazzarri’s midfield and should start here, but Lukic is out and only one can feature in the remaining spot, with Alejandro Berenguer Remiro and Soualiho Meïté fighting for the place.

Torino Probable XI:

Salvatore Sirigu (GK), Armando Izzo, Koffi Djidji/Gleison Bremer/Lyanco, Kevin Bonifazi, Diego Laxalt, Tomas Rincon, Daniele Baselli, Soualiho Meite, Lorenzo De Silvestri, Andrea Belotti, Simone Zaza

AC Milan FC Team News:

Centre-back Mattia Caldara is the only player missing from AC Milan’s roster ahead of this match.

Derby woes mean, Giampaolo may make changes in this game:

Milan lost 0-2 in the season’s first Milan derby against Inter Milan, and it was clear to see where the team needs improvement. But wing-backs struggled to contain Inter’s darting wingers and that’s why we see a change coming on the flanks.

Ricardo Rodriguez hasn’t been at his best, while Andrea Conti’s form is a concern as well.

That’s why we predict Davide Calabria, who missed the last game due to suspension, and Theo Hernandez both starting on either flank in this game.

It’s not clear why Suso is not playing at his usual best, but the former Liverpool star should start here.

AC Milan squad:

  • Goalkeepers: A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma, Pepe Reina
  • Defenders: Calabria, Conti, Duarte, Gabbia, Hernandez, Musacchio, Rodriguez, Romagnoli
  • Midfielders: Bennacer, Biglia, Bonaventura, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Krunic
  • Attackers: Borini, Castillejo, Leao, Piatek, Rebic, Suso

AC Milan Probable XI:

Donnarumma (GK), Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez, Kessie, Bennacer, Calhanoglu, Suso, Piatek, Leao

Likely to score:

  • For Torino: Andrea Belotti, Simone Zaza
  • For AC Milan: Krzysztof Piatek, Hakan Calhanoglu

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Krzysztof Piatek: Last season, he was in red-hot form at the start of the 2018-19 season, but the Polish international has failed to show that consistency with Milan. But he remains Milan’s best bet to score in any game.

Last season:

  • Games: 38
  • Goals: 23

Andrea Belotti: Torino’s hot-man needs no introduction. Marco Giampaolo will be well aware of his threat and must have devised a plan to nullify his impact. Though, it’s hard to contain him.

Last season:

  • Games: 37
  • Goals: 15
  • Assists: 03

Belotti this season in Serie A:

Games: 04, Goals: 02

Choose Bennacer and Calhanoglu from Milan, and Tomas Rincon and Daniele Baselli from Torino.

Suggested combination:
