MUN vs ALK Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups

Manchester United face AZ Alkmaar in Europa League matchday two at Kyocera Stadium as Ole Gunnar Solskjae looks to secure just the second win in four games in all competitions.

The Red Devils have made another terrible start to the new season and have already fallen a huge 12-point behind league leaders Liverpool. But this game provides another opportunity to Solskajer to put United’s season back on track.

But the task to bring the three points back to Old Trafford will be hard as AZ Alkmaar are unbeaten at home in the last seven games. They also won the last three at Kyocera Stadium without conceding a goal.

Match Details:

The Europa League match will be played between AZ Alkmaar and Manchester United at Kyocera Stadium, in Hague, Netherlands. The ground has a capacity of 15,000.
The game will start at 10:25 PM (IST), on Thursday, September 03.

AZ Alkmaar Team News:

Twenty-two-year-old Icelandic winger Albert Gudmundsson suffered a hamstring injury last weekend. He lasted just 20 minutes against Heracles and will miss the clash against United.

Jonas Svensson will be serving a one-game ban here after getting sent off in game-1 against FK Partizan.

No other injury concerns for the hosts.

Possible replacement and likely changes:

Yukinari Sugawara is likely to cover for the suspended Svensson at the right-back.

While Albert Guðmundsson’s injury makes way for Calvin Stengs in the paying 11. Stengs was on the scoresheet against Partizan and would have started anyway.

Expect a change at the back. Ron Vlaar should get the nod ahead of Pantelis Hatzidiakos to play alongside Stijn Wuytens.

AZ Alkmaar Probable XI:

Marco Bizot (GK), Owen Wijndal, Jan Wuytens, Ron Vlaar, Yukinari Sugawara, Fredrik Midtsjo, Teun Koopmeiners, Oussama Idrissi, Dani de Wit, Calvin Stengs, Myron Boadu

Manchester United FC Team News:

Paul Pogba hasn’t travelled with the squad for this game. Solskjaer confirmed that the 26-year-old will need rest and further treatment for a foot injury he picked up late in the game against Manchester United on Monday.

The World Cup winner joins the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones on the sidelines.

Solskajer will make changes!

Yeah, he will do. Especially if we consider that Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka haven’t travelled with the squad due to their injury problems.

Sergio Romero will take the gloves here, while the fit-again Diogo Dalot should get the start on the right side of the defense.

Axel Tuanzebe should start in his natural position at the back alongside Marcos Rojo.

Daniel James is in the squad but the young Welshman could be rested here.

Mason Greenwood is expected to lead the lines for the visitors, while the likes of Fred and Nemanja Matic should be in the playing 11 as well.

Manchester squad for Alkmaar game:

  • Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
  • Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams
  • Midfielders: Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Fred, James Garner, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Angel Gomes, Daniel James
  • Forwards: Tahith Chong, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood

Manchester United Probable XI:

Sergio Romero (GK), Diogo Dalot, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Williams, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Angel Gomez, Mason Greenwood

Likely to score:

  • For AZ Alkmaar: Myron Boadu, Calvin Stengs, Dani de Wit
  • For Manchester United: Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata, Daniel James, Angel Gomes

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Mason Greenwood: The 16-year-old young Englishman has emerged as a real prospect this season. He has already scored twice for the Red Devils and will be looking to add more when he lines up against Alkmaar.

Calvin Stengs: Alkmaar have some really good players on their roster and one of them is Calvin Stengs. On current form, the 20-year-old will be hard to stop for the visitors:

Current season:

  • Games: 12
  • Goals: 05
  • Assists: 05

Myron Boadu: Another young prodigy, who has set the league on fire. Considering both his age and experience at this level, the return of 5 goals in just nine games is just unbelievable.

Current season:

  • Games: 09
  • Goals: 05
  • Assists: 04

Juan Mata: Not a regular these days, but the former Valencia and Chelsea man is a class player. Against a team in Alkmaar who is quite young for this level, his experience could be the key in deciding the result of this game.

Suggested combination:
