MUN vs NEW Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Newcastle United will be playing host to Manchester United in the Premier League year fixture at St James’ Park, in Newcastle, Tyne, on Wednesday night (IST).

Newcastle United:
Manager Rafael Benitez was quite vocal about his team’s chances in his pre-match Liverpool press conference. But it was not the result at Anfield that he was eulogizing about rather the former Valencia manager was talking about the whole season instead. And if you are a Toons, there is no good reading in it.

We all know the current state of this proud and madly supported football club which attracts more than 50,000 people into the St James’ Park week in and week out despite the doldrums that the club is in. The owner Mike Ashley is too reluctant to release the money for Benitez to spend on new players, and there’s an endless saga about the club’s potential sale which is always hitting the roadblocks.

So Benitez told the media that he feels if his current club manages to avoid the relegation it would be nothing short of a miracle. Then he took the case of other clubs, all the 19 clubs who are spending money. And that’s why he was too clear in his assessment of his team’s chances that it would be difficult to finish above the three teams who are more willing to open their pockets.

At the moment, the table looks a bit benign to Newcastle as they sit at 15th in the table but only three points above the relegation zone. Now their next game is against Red Devils which if they lose and other results go against them, the Toons could find themselves in the bottom three.

Manchester United:
The biggest question is what was holding Manchester United back? Jose Mourinho? His tactics, the negativity or the dressing room? But whatever it is, United have made a flying start under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and everything looks good.

Paul Pogba is back. He certainly looks like a player now for whom United paid the then world-record transfer fee. The French World Cup winning player has scored four times in his last three games, and is enjoying his newly found freedom on the football pitch.

Three wins in as many games in the Premier League have changed the mood surrounding the club. There is so much optimism around Old Trafford and United team these days that there is even the talk of finishing in the top-4 and it is not out of United’s grasp by any means either.

At this stage, the Red Devils are sixth in the table, only three points behind Arsenal. Now the gap between them and the champions league places is 8 points. But there is still a lot of football to be played and anything can happen in the 2nd half of the season.
