Manchester United suffered just one defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and that too came in the Champions League against the mighty Paris Saint-Germain. Ever since that draw was made, United were pitted as an underdog for the simple fact that the team was in transition.

The Red Devils lost the first leg 0-2 at Old Trafford, which was assumed to be the end for United in the Champions League this season.

But Ole produced his biggest result to date as a manager of his beloved club in Paris, rounding off the first leg scoreline to win 3-1 at Parc des Princes. It was a historical result in every aspect and Ole deservedly received the praise for climbing up the mountain.

That was the week also when United faced Arsenal in an away Premier League match. Ole’s men were still unbeaten in the league and were backed to extend that record against the Gunners.

But the Red Devils lost that match 2-0, and the lowest moment came seven days later as Wolves knocked United out of the FA Cup.

Those two results have put some dent on the recovery Ole has done at Old Trafford, but it’s been some turnaround, and an unexpected one considering the situation United were in when Jose Mourinho was sacked in December.

It’s worth noting that Manchester United are 5th in the table with just three points separating them from 3rd placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Watford, meanwhile, are having the season of their life. They are 8th in the table having accumulated 44 points from 30 games so far.

Hornets’ rise is simply because of the form they have shown against the teams lying below them. Eight out of the 11 defeats have come against the big-six, with just home loss against the so-called weaker teams.

Javi Garcia may have lost some of the guile after Richarlison left the club, but the team still has the talents like Abdoulaye Doucouré, Roberto Pereyra and Gerard Deulofeu.
