NED vs ITA Dream11 Prediction: The Netherlands welcome Italy in the second round of fixtures of the Nations League A Group 1. The Dutchmen started their campaign with a 1-0 win against Poland while the Italians had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Florence. Dwight Lodeweges’ men top their table at the moment and will want to further extend that lead with a win over the Azurri. Italy, a side that is currently a shadow of its former self, is seemingly finding some stability with 5 wins out of a possible 6 since September 2019, scoring 22 goals and conceding just 3. Roberto Mancini has also helped them qualify for the Euros with 3 games to spare which will come as a huge boost to them. However, the Netherlands had a very similar run of form with 5 wins out of 6 which makes this game a very interesting one. Having reached the finals in the Nations League 2018/19, the Oranje Army want to win silverware and establish themselves as a top national side and potentially winning the Euros and Nations League in 2021 will do just that. For that, they will have to start putting in solid performances against sides like Italy.

NED vs ITA Dream11 Prediction Team News, Injury Report, Starting Lineups

The Netherlands Team News:

Stefan De Vrij will miss the game due to injury. There are no other new injury concerns. Donny van de Beek may get a start after he missed the first game due to his transfer to Manchester United. But it is unlikely that Lodeweges would change a winning team.

Probable Lineup:

Jasper Cillessen (GK)
Hans Hateboer
Joel Veltman
Virgil van Dijk
Nathan Ake
Marten de Roon
Georginio Wijnaldum
Frenkie de Jong
Steven Bergwijn
Memphis Depay
Quincy Promes

Italy Team News:

Even Italy have no new injury concerns. Mancini has confirmed that veteran, Giorgio Chiellini will start in defence. Italy will most likely go with a full-strength lineup with a few changes from their last game because of the importance of this one.

Probable Lineup:

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK)
Alessandro Florenzi
Leonardo Bonucci
Giorgio Chiellini
Cristiano Biraghi
Lorenzo Pellegrini
Stefano Sensi
Nicolo Zaniolo
Fernando Chiesa
Ciro Immobile
Lorenzo Insigne

Who Will Win Today’s Match?

Bwin have Italy to win at 12/5 which is great in terms of returns as Italy are currently on a long unbeaten streak and have a very good chance of beating the Netherlands. A draw between the two sides is at 21/10 which is a safe bet. International matches are more closed off with lower scorelines and given Italy and the Netherlands’ strong defence, a draw is a very likely outcome. Whether it will be a scoring draw or a goalless draw remains to be seen. It will be rather peculiar if a pitch containing the likes of Memphis Depay, Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne, and Steven Bergwijn manage to play out a goalless draw. In terms of the standings, a draw will be a good result for the Netherlands as long as Bosnia and Herzegovina don’t beat Poland in the parallel fixture. Italy, on the other hand, need a win to get things running in the Nations League and qualify for the final play-offs of the tournament. An evenly matched game in attack, defence and midfield that features some of the best players and some of the most promising young talents in the world, this will be an interesting one.

NED vs ITA Dream11 Teams

Captain Options

Memphis Depay – The Netherlands and Olympique Lyon stalwart, Memphis Depay, has already kicked off the 2020/21 season in style, scoring 3 goals in Lyon’s first Ligue1 match. He also had 17 goal contributions in 22 games for Lyon in the 2019/20 season wherein they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. He will be spearheading the Dutch attack and will look to cause the Italians all sorts of problems with his silky movement. With 19 goals and 19 assists for the Oranje Army, Lodewweges will hope for Memphis to be on top of his game.

Ciro Immobile – The Italian forward had a near-perfect 2019/20 season, scoring 39 goals and providing 8 assists for SS Lazio. Despite being dropped for Andrea Belotti in the opening game against Bosnia, he is expected to make a return for this one and carry on his fine goal-scoring form. The 30-year old has also scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in his last 5 appearances for the Azurri.

Virgil van Dijk – The Dutch captain is a brick wall in the heart of their defence. Liverpool had an excellent season defensively wherein they conceded the least amount of goals in the league, thanks to van Dijk’s prowess. He has played a full 90 mins for the Netherlands in every game they have played since October 2017 and has only missed 2 matches when fit. He has also been captaining the Netherlands since March 2018 and has only conceded 2 goals in the last five matches.

X-Factors (Differential Picks)

Frenkie de Jong – The 23-year-old midfielder has had a great season with Barcelona after his transfer from Ajax Amsterdam. Even though he plays a more central role for the Spanish giants, Frenkie was deployed in an advanced position for the Netherlands’ game against Poland. It was his brilliant ball over the top that created space for Hateboer to square it into Bergwijn who scored the winner. If Frenkie continues to play an advanced role, he will be providing such great balls to Memphis Depay and Steven Bergwijn which is a tempting combination to watch.

Stefano Sensi – Before his injury-marred a lucrative league campaign for Inter, Sensi was one of their best players. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 19 appearances from the central midfield position which is quite impressive. He also bagged the goal for Italy in their game against Bosnia.

Steven Bergwijn – Scoring the winning goal in the Netherlands’ game against Poland, Bergwijn will be high on confidence at the moment. He is also not shy of stepping up on the big stage with goals against Manchester City on his Premier League debut and a brilliant solo goal against Manchester United later on in the season.
