The Major League Soccer returns this weekend after a two-week International hiatus with Portland Timbers playing host to Houston Dynamos in our highlighted MLS fixture on India Fantasy at Providence Park.

Season so far:

  • Last season’s MLS Cup beaten finalists, Portland Timbers are currently propping up the table in the Western Conference.
  • But it’s not the clear picture of this team’s potential or of the level they may be playing at so far this season. For Portland played the first 12 games on the road, due to the reconstruction of Providence Park.
  • A return of four wins and 14 points from 12 away games, betters the average of what this team managed in away matches in the whole of last season. That may not be a good indicator of where Portland may finish, but it’s a defining factor considering, they will be playing 16 of the remaining regular season fixtures at home.

  • Progression is Houston Dynamos’ main feature this season. They have taken huge strides already towards the playoffs, currently sitting fourth in the Western Conference.
  • Twenty-three points from 13 games, is more than half of what Dynamos earned in the 2018 regular season.
  • What’s more interesting is they have played three games fewer than the teams surrounding them. So there is a genuine possibility that Houston could move 2nd on the table if they win their games in hand.
