TOT vs CHE Dream11 Prediction: The London derby is upon us for the fourth round of the EFL Carabao Cup as Chelsea make the journey across the capital to take on Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham is coming off the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw against Newcastle United where a controversial penalty decision in the 90th minute has left fans, players and the manager fuming. They could have extended their winning streak to 4 games but unfortunately, they had to settle for a draw and an injury to key forward, Heung-Min Son. Spurs had their work cut out for them in the third round of the Carabao Cup with Leyton Orient having to forfeit the game due to 17 players testing positive for Covid-19 before the game. Chelsea have also come off the back of a disappointing draw as well when they played out a 3-3 against newly-promoted West Brom after inexplicably trailing 3-0 at half-time. Chelsea barged into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 6-0 win over Barnsley but now they face a much better side in Tottenham Hotspur. One club will be desperate to end a long, long wait for some silverware, while one club needs some trophies to show for their transfer spending, as the master takes on his apprentice in this derby.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Injury Report, Unavailability: Heung-Min Son has been ruled out of the game and joins Gareth Bale and Japhet Tanganga on the bench.
Doubtful: Moussa Sissoko withdrew from the squad that played Newcastle and it is still unknown if he is fit to make the matchday squad for the Chelsea game.

Joe Hart may also start in goal in TOT vs CHE Dream11 Team Prediction.

Who will win today’s match?

Bwin is offering odds that have heavily touted a Chelsea win at 19/20 with Spurs to win at 13/5. Despite Jose Mourinho’s rant about the congested fixture schedule, he is a manager with a winning mentality and will not take this game for granted. The Carabao Cup is a great chance to win a trophy and end their lack of silverware but injuries are a hurdle that they need to avoid. The Portuguese tactician would’ve closely examined Chelsea’s 3-3 draw at West Brom and will set up to expose their backline with his dynamic attacking options like Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Dele Alli. While Spurs are bothered by injuries, Chelsea will be fatigued as this is their second consecutive away game, including a trip to the west midlands over the weekend, and now a trip across London for this matchup. A lot of travelling before a big game is not ideal and that’s where the Blues will turn to their squad depth and hope they can do the job against their crosstown rivals. Mourinho and his former player, Lampard, will meet for the third time since their appointments with Lampard having won both the previous fixtures. Check out our TOT vs CHE Dream11 Match Prediction!

Captain options

Mason Mount – Chelsea put in a very poor showing against West Brom that saw some bad individual performances, but Mount was not one of them. He had a very good game and also opened the scoring to begin their comeback in the second half. Lampard has placed a lot of trust in Mason Mount and the English youngster repaid that faith and he will now look to power Chelsea through to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Steven Bergwijn – Heung-Min Son’s injury has given Steven Bergwijn the opportunity to stake his claim in the starting line-up. Bergwijn signed for Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in the winter transfer window earlier this year. He has since had only 3 goals and 1 assist since then but his goals have come against the likes of Man City, Man United and Wolves and will now hope to make a difference against Chelsea to gain Mourinho’s trust.
Kai Havertz – Kai Havertz will look to pick up where he left off in the Carabao Cup when he scored a hat-trick against Barnsley. But now his opponent is a team far tougher than Barnsley and having the same impact on Spurs will be a difficult task for Havertz but that is what they will expect their expensive signings to do.

X-factors (differential picks)

Dele Alli – Dele Alli has reportedly fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho and has played only 105 minutes this season but injuries may just give him an opportunity to impress again. Dele Alli was a teenage prodigy at Spurs and was undroppable for years, scoring 62 goals and providing 55 assists before the age of 24. But the rules are different under Mourinho and Alli will be desperate to prove his worth.
Timo Werner – Another game and another blank for Timo Werner as the German is yet to get off the mark for Chelsea but has been putting in good performances. Frank Lampard will turn to Werner to link-up with the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz to test the Tottenham defence and maybe grab a couple of goal contributions.
Sergio Reguilon – Spurs’ new signing, Sergio Reguilon, is likely to make his debut for Spurs against Chelsea. He had an excellent time at Sevilla and was one of the main players in their campaign as they lifted the Europa League last season. He is an attacking full-back will look to dart up and down the left flank and create chances in the final third.
