The Cascadia rivalry will be one of the many high-profile games set to be played this weekend in the Major League Soccer.
Portland Timbers will be playing host to Vancouver Whitecaps and are looking to move into the Western Conference playoffs.
Timbers saw their six-game unbeaten run in the league snapped last weekend when they went down 1-0 away to Minnesota United.
However, manager Giovanni Savarese must be happy with the way his team has played in the last month or so.
While the visitors are second from bottom on the table, better than Colorado by only two points, but having played two games more than them. As things stand, nine points separate them from the playoffs, and a defeat here will make their chances of postseason even slimmer.
The Major League Soccer match will be played between Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps at Providence Park, in Portland, United States of America. The ground has a capacity of 25,218.
The game will start at 08:30 AM (IST), on Sunday, August 11.

Brian Fernandez: Portland signed him as a designated player and the move has worked for both club and the player. The 24-year-old has been phenomenal this season, averaging almost one goal every game he started.
Jeremy Ebobisse: The young forward nailed down his place in the Portland Timbers’ starting 11 during the 2nd half of the season, where he helped his team’s run to the 2018 MLS Cup. He has got even better this season, improving his finishing in front of the goal.
Diego Valeri: There are not many players in the MLS who is as naturally gifted and technically sound as Valeri is. The 33-year-old is a whole package, with the goals and the assists flying from his boot more often than not.
