Barcelona will wrap up the matchday eight with a home game against Sevilla at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid are currently enjoying the view from the top having won five times in the first six league games. Zinedine Zidane’s men are the only side remaining in La Liga to not lose a game.

Barcelona can’t afford any more slip up even at this early in the season. Ernesto Valverde, for his own job’s sake, needs to string together a winning run to silence the voices of dissatisfaction inside the Camp Nou.

That said, Barca have a slight momentum ahead of the game against Sevilla following two consecutive wins in the league.

Timely return for the Camp Nou favourite!

Valverde included Jordi Alba in his matchday squad for Sevilla game after the 30-year-old left-back recovered from an injury he picked up during the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund last month, forcing him to miss five games in all competitions.

With Junior Firpo out injured, Valverde could use Alba’s services for the big game against Sevilla.

Ansu Fati is also back in the squad after missing the last two games due to an injury. But expect the 16-year-old to play his part from the bench only due to the availability of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, and Luis Suarez.

More injury updates!

Clement Lenglet is set to serve a ban here following the red card in the last game, while Samuel Umtiti remains out as of now.
