Premier League

Any top goalscorer is a driving factor of success for his team. The number of goals you score is most of the time directly proportional to the points tally of your side and how high up in the table you are. In fact, in the Premier League, the top goal scorer spot is reserved for the elite of the elite.

So here is a list of the favourites, players likely to be the top goalscorer of the upcoming season:

1. Harry Kane

The Tottenham Hotspur man became the youngest player in the history of the Premier League to score 100 goals. 2017/18 saw him score 30 goals for the third season in a row.

Kane who led England to the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, also scored 6 goals in the tournament. For the feat, he won the award for being the top-scorer of the competition.

However, this is a make or break season for Harry Kane as someone as talented as he is, needs to take his team to win titles. Scoring goals are all and good, but titles are the motivating factor for any player, and it would be something the 25-year-old would be itching to get his hands on.

Odds of claiming the title: 5/2 (Bet 365)

Team: Tottenham Hotspur

2. Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian was magical in his first season with Liverpool. It was unreal to see him perform at that level, given how his first stint in the Premier League with Chelsea went. He scored 32 goals to claim the prize of being top scorer of 2017/18 season.

Salah was the fire that guided Liverpool through tough times. He was the second highest goal-scorer in the UEFA Champions League as well where Liverpool were the runners-up.

Even though his injury caused him to have an off outing at the World Cup, he was back to his best in the pre-season and will be gunning to emulate the performances he was exhibiting previously.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Gabonese forward came to Arsenal in the Winter Transfer window last season. It was an exceptional coup and given the firepower The Gunners already had, the signing of Aubameyang was expected to be the one that would revolutionise this side.

But, he found it a bit difficult to hit the ground running. He is a player with breathtaking pace but his style of play didn’t match with his then manager Arsene Wenger. Now the legendary coach has gone, and under Unai Emery, it is expected that Aubameyang is going to thrive. Definitely, a player to look out for.

Odds of claiming the title: 13/2 (Bet 365)

Team: Arsenal

4.Sergio Aguero

Argentine Sergio Aguero has become a specialist in the Premier League and has already scored 200 goals for Manchester City.

The player has an amazing sixth sense in the box and scintillating finishing ability. His impact in a game is unparalleled, and he will once again be the player to lead the charge for a title for Manchester City.

Even though he was being usurped by Gabriel Jesus sometimes last season, where the Brazilian was given preference by manager Pep Guardiola, the fire that was lit under Aguero to see him be declassified like that made him an even better player. He will be fighting not only for his team but for a spot in the starting XI when the season starts.

Odds of claiming the title: 6/1 (Bet 365)
