Kabaddi is an ancient game that has been played for 400 years in India. It was developed with a word, Kai-Pidi, meaning let us hold together. It is terminologically implying suggests that it is a contact sport game.

Rules and Regulations of Kabaddi for its Gameplay

Each team contains a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 12 players. And out of them, only seven players will stay on the field for competition.

Kabaddi has its own types in accordance with the age and weight criteria. Therefore, be in the line in which category you suit your profile. 

There will be six officials on the field to oversee the performance and foul play of each team. They consist of a referee, a scorer, two assistant scorers, and two umpires.

The entire game is divided into two halves of 20 minutes and between them 5 minutes of rest or break time. 

The Kabaddi game will begin after tossing a coin to an umpire, and the team that wins the toss has the priority to choose whether to defend or attack. Remember, one who prefers raiding in the first round should go for a defensive position in the second half.

Gaining points, the attacking side has to send its own raider to the opposition’s half for tagging one or more against members before inhaling again. 

Raiders have to yell kabaddi from start to end. If they fail to do so, they must come back to their side without gaining anything. In this situation, the other side gets points for maintaining its defense.

Kabaddi officials understand the foul play or forfeiting if any member of the defensive side catches raiders by their hair, clothes, or anywhere else. Defenders hold only the torso or limb of a raider to wrestle him down.

After the first half of the game, both teams do interchange their courts with each other. 

The game continues until its decided time is up, and the team that scores more points at the end is the winner.
