ENG-W vs NZ-W Dream11 Hockey | England vs New Zealand Women’s FIH Pro League Preview

Christchurch, 8 February at 11:30 AM IST

The Great Britain Hockey Women’s team will face off New Zealand’s Black Sticks Women at NGA Puna Wai Hockey Stadium, Christchurch in the upcoming FIH Pro League clash on Friday evening. Both the sides have released their respective squads ahead of the clash and are all set for the clash.

The Great Britain Hockey Women management has selected a 20-member squad for the first three fixtures against New Zealand, Australia and China. Along with the male counterparts, the Women’s side will be locking horns with New Zealand and Australia before travelling to China. The squad consists of many young and potential players who will bring stability and vibrancy to the side. Young Holly Hunt, Holly Munro and Lizzie Neal are in line for their international debuts, while Tess Howard gets a call on the back of an impressing run at the Hockey Champions Trophy in November 2018. It was Howard’s first senior international competition.

On the opposite, New Zealand Women would be hoping to secure their first win and open their account on the League table. Placed sixth in the world ranking, New Zealand Women have played two home games and have faced drubbing at the hands of Netherland and Belgium.

The FIH Pro League which is more of a replacement of Hockey World League will play an instrumental role in 2020 Tokyo Olympic and the World Cup qualification. A total of nine top teams will lock horns with each other in two rounds- home and away to secure a spot in top four positions. The finals will be played in the Netherlands in June.
