KXIP v DD:
DD: 166/7 (Gambhir 55, Mujeeb 2/28)

After a cracker of a game in the IPL opener last night, Gautam Gambhir wooed his fans on the homecoming. The Delhi Daredevils skipper racked his 36th IPL fifty, equaling Warner’s record for most half-centuries in the IPL. Delhi innings did not get off to a great start, as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Undeterred, Gauti kept pummeling bowlers around the PCA stadium.

However, it was the 17-year old off-spinner from Afghanistan who made the headlines, finishing with 2/28 in his 4 overs. Introduced in the third over, Mujeeb got rid of Munro attempting switch hit with his third ball to begin dream IPL debut.

The youngster showed all the skills in the bag, bowling traditional off-spin and mixing it up with leg spin to trouble all of DD batsmen. Later he got rid of the dangerous looking Pant, who misread the googly and perished. It didn’t end there, the Afghani teenage sensation also affected a run-out of Delhi captain Gambhir to take the sting out of the innings.
