Indore – An inspired bowling spell from Umesh Yadav flattened Kings XI Punjab on Monday to give Royal Challengers Bangalore a dominating 10-wicket win.

Put into bat, KXIP started cautiously but the fifth over of the innings brought the home side all the trouble. Fast-bowler Umesh Yadav struck twice in an over, claiming scalps of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle, to break KXIP’s back.

Pouncing on the opportunity, the Bangalore side didn’t give the following batsmen anything to settle in. Succumbing to the pressure, KXIP batsmen fell like a pack of cards to only manage 88. Only three men in the KXIP lineup could manage the double-digit scores.

In reply, Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli scored 66 in the Powerplay overs to take the game away from the home team. The duo chased the target down in 8.1 overs.
