The first of the Saturday doubleheader was a game dominated by batsmen, where Jason Roy’s knock of 91 runs helped Delhi Daredevils come out on top. Chasing mammoth target of 194, DD started on a positive note scoring 23 in the first two overs.

DD lost their skipper Gautam Gambhir after he put on 50-run for the first wicket with Jason Roy, who replaced Colin Munro in DD XI. Rishabh Pant joined Roy, the two never let the required run rate go out of hand. Pant scored a blazing 25-ball 47 while Iyer made a valuable 27-ball in the middle order with latter adding 60 runs with Roy to help DD win by 7 wickets. Bumrah, Mustafizur and Krunal bowled well but it was not their day.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians’ openers put on 102-run partnership in 9 overs to help Mumbai Indians post a towering total on the board. On the way, they helped MI register their best Powerplay score in all IPL – 84. Suryakumar scored 53 runs off 32 balls, getting the opportunity to open the innings, while Lewis scored 48 off 28 deliveries and Ishan Kishan making 44 runs off 23 balls. Tewatia, Christian and Boult all picked two wickets each for Delhi Daredevils.
