IPL 2018: Send-off King Venkatesh Prasad named the bowling Coach of Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has named former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad as their bowling coach for the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League.

Venkatesh resigned as the head of junior national selection panel a few days back.

Kings XI Punjab announced in a statement, “Venkatesh Prasad, former right-arm medium-fast bowler and ex-chairman of the junior national selection committee BCCI would be the bowling coach of KXIP.”

Former Australia player Brad Hodge has been appointed as the head coach for next three seasons. Having amassed more than 7000 runs in T20 tournament, Hodge is expected to stir significant changes in the team under mentor Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag said, “We are glad to have a foreign coach along with Venkatesh who will join the team this year. I hope the team benefits hugely from their collective experiences.”

Kings XI Punjab retained Axar Patel in the IPL auction, he being the only retention of the team.

The franchise has announced Mithun Manhas to be the assistant coach while as Nishant Thakur has been appointed as the conditioning coach. Shyamal Vallabhjee would be taking over the responsibility of the technical coach and Ishanta Bordoloi will b the fielding coach.

Kings XI Punjab will kickstart its IPL campaign against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on April 8.
