Australian betting company – PlayUp Ltd, the 4th ranked sport-related website in October 2018, has launched a new fantasy sports website – DraftStars.in to capitalise on the tremendous growth of fantasy sports in India. As per the company’s press release, DraftStars.in will offer real-money fantasy games to the Indian audience and has already reached 2,300 new users registrations within a week of the launch.

As per the reports, a Delhi based company Fantasy Studio (India) Pvt. Ltd. is expected to control the operations of Draftstars in India.  The newly launched fantasy website offers domestic and international cricket challenges along with a few soccer games currently, and by the end of the year, it plans to provide basketball and kabaddi challenges too.

“The Indian market is the fastest-growing fantasy sports market in the world. Given PlayUp’s strong reputation and brand in the country it was a natural decision to introduce another of our most popular pay-to-play fantasy sports platforms, Draftstars,” says Venkatesh Iyengar who is DraftStars India’s Operations Manager.

While the country already has many fantasy sports platforms in the likes of Dream11, Fanfight, BalleBaazi and Starpick, DraftStars’ entry will be a tough game.
