Vijay associated with Pro Kabaddi League 2018

The Vivo Pro Kabaddi League is just one month away and Star Sports the official broadcaster of the lucrative event has announced the Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi as the face of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League in Tamil Nadu. Vijay would be donning the colours of Tamil Thalaivas and cheering for them throughout their campaign.

On the announcement of Vijay’s association with Vivo Pro-Kabaddi, a spokesperson for Star Sports quoted,

“After an extremely successful season five, with record viewership numbers and inspiring stories, Vivo Pro-Kabaddi has proved to be the boost Kabaddi needed. With the home team Tamil Thalaivas, the affinity for Kabaddi in the region has grown multifold and today we are glad to bring on board Vijay Sethupathi as the new face of Vivo Pro-Kabaddi in Tamil Nadu. We are happy to have Vijay partner with us in the region to build a deeper affinity for the sport in Tamil Nadu”.

He took to Twitter to share his excitement

He was very ecstatic for his association with the premier franchise Kabaddi League around the globe and he took to his Twitter account to show his excitement;

Unlike last year where they were seen wearing the yellow jersey, this year the Thalaivas will don a brand new look which is a combination of royal blue and yellow colour.

The Tamil Thalaivas will be led by the current Indian skipper and one of the most successful raiders currently around the globe Ajay Thakur. He was retained for a sum of Rs 76.23 Lakhs and would be their marquee player this season as well.

Thalaivas will kick-off their campaign on the opening day itself

The Ajay Thakur led Tamil Thalaivas will kick-start their Pro Kabaddi 2018 campaign on the opening day itself against another Zone B opponents the Telugu Titans which will see them renewing their Deccan rivalry on October 5.

The opening game will be followed by the matches against Patna Pirates on 6th October, against UP Yodhas on 7th October, again with the Telugu Titans on 9th October, against the Bengaluru Bulls on 10th October and against the Bengal Warriors on 11th October which will also be the last day of Chennai leg.
