Before the start of the tenth Pro Kabaddi season, more than 500 players from across the world went under the hammer in the recently concluded Player Auction which was held on 9th and 10th October in Mumbai. There were quite a few players for whom the 12 PKL teams engaged in intense bidding wars and also plenty of players were retained. We look at the most expensive player in Pro Kabbadi 2023.

Pawan Sehrawat – 2.60 Cr

Currently, India’s top raider, Pawan Sehrawat started with a base price of ₹ 20 lacs but it went up to more than a crore in a flash. There was an intense bidding war between his previous franchise Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers, and Telugu Titans. In the end, he was bought by Telugu Titans for INR 2.605 crore. He was the costliest player in Season 9 when he was brought by Tamil Thalaivas for INR 2.26 crore. However his move to Telugu Titans saw him break his own record and he is the most expensive player in PKL 10.

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh – 2.35 Cr

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh of Iran was the second most expensive player in this Player Auction as he was sold to Puneri Paltans for INR 2.35 Crore. The all-rounder has made a total of 286 tackles at a success rate of more than 55% and also holds the record for most tackle points in a single PKL match.

Maninder Singh – 2.12 Cr

Maninder Singh who is in second spot in all-time raid points leaderboard with 1231 raid was released by Bengal Warriors ahead of the season. He was in demand by plenty of teams as Patna Pirates, Telugu Titans, Bengaluru Bulls and Dabang Delhi K.C. were seen going after him at the auction. However, Bengal Warriors played it smart by exercising their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to retain Maninder in the squad for ₹ 2.12 crore

Fazel Atrachali – 1.60 Cr

The defender from Iran is arguably one of the best in PKL and has amassed 424 tackle points which is the best in league history. Gujarat Giants shelled out INR 1.60 crore for him in the Player Auction which makes Fazel Atrachali the highest paid defender in this season and fourth most expensive player in PKL 10.

Arjun Deshwal – 1.15 CR

Arjun Deshwal was the MVP in the previous edition and he had a season to remember as he secured 296 raid points which is the most by any player. He attacked from the front and showed complete dominance throguhout the season. He is retained by Jaipur Pink Panthers for INR 1.15 crore ahead of the season.

Naveen Kumar – 1.10 CR

Naveen Kumar was retained by Dabang Delhi KC for INR 1.10 crore. He played the role of lead raider and has done very well in the last few seasons. Naveen Kumar will be one of the key players to watch out for in this PKL and he will be donning the Delhi colours once again.

Sunil Kumar – 1 CR

Season 9 PKL-winning captain Sunil Kumar has an abundance of experience of playing in Pro Kabaddi and he was retained by Jaipur Pink Panthers for INR 1 crore. He was one of the best defenders last season with 64 tackele points and is also regarded as one of the best captains in Pro Kabbadi League history.

Siddharth Desai – 1 Cr

He is known for displaying his strength and agility on the mat and Siddharth Desai was released by Telugu Titans ahead of the season. Bengaluru Bulls and Haryana Steelers seemed keen to have Siddharth Desai in their side. However, after some persistent bidding, it was the Haryana Steelers who secured a deal and brought Siddharth Desai for INR 1 crore.

Pardeep Narwal – 99 L

Pardeep Narwal known popularly as Dubki King was formidable in the attack for U.P. Yoddhas in the last edition. He finished the season with 220 raid points and averaged 10 raid points per match last season. He is known for his power packed perfomance and he was retained by UP Yoddhas for INR 99 Lakhs.

Ashu Malik – 96.25 L

Ashu Malik was retained by Daband Delhi KC side for a third consecutive season after using the FBM card for the raider. Even though Bengaluru Bulls and Tamil Thalaivas tried to bid for him at the Season 10 auction, it was Dabang Delhi K.C. who bought Ashu back to their side for INR 96.25 Lakhs.
