Tiffany Hayes looking to drive ATL vs DAL Dream11

ATL vs DAL Dream11: The WNBA is now well into the last stage of the Regular Season as the Playoffs are barely three weeks away and this is the most crucial part of the window. Some teams had an awesome start to the season but are unraveling now. And two of those teams in Atlanta Dream and the Dallas Wings will meet here.

The Dream has been on a slide with 12 wins and 17 losses, which is a downer compared to earlier in the season. The Dream had an amazing 7 wins and 4 losses start, but since then, they have lost 13 and won just five games. In their last game, the Dream lost to the Lynx 85-92 despite a 24 points performance by Tiffany Hayes.

The Wings were impressive to begin the season, nabbing five wins in seven games, but since then, they have gone off the rails. They have 12 wins and 17 losses, losing 15 and winning just seven games since then. In their last game, the Wings lost to the Mystics 77:87 despite a 27 points performance by Teaira McCowan.

The Dream and the Wings have met twice and both times Dream came on top.

WNBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Dream’s woes deepen

The Dream has had a much stronger defense compared to last season and they have become an effective squad on the non-glamourous end. However, their woes on the “glamourous”(read offensive) end have only deepened through the season. Tiffany Hayes has injected life into the offensive end but that hasn’t been enough.

Early in the season, the combination of Howard-Wallace-Wheeler-Parker-Coffey was giving fierce resistance to the opponents but a host of injuries derailed the rotations and the team lost grip over the season, There is no doubt that the Dream is in the need of a renaissance, and need better shot-selection.

The Wings need a defensive boost

The Wings were impressive to begin the season and one of the major reasons for that was the incredible offensive starts by Marina Mabrey and Isabelle Harrison. The Wings have a wealth of shooting, spearheaded by Arike Ogunbowale, but the effort has fallen short from the side of Harrison and Mabrey lately, with Harrison’s role being shifted constantly.

The trouble for the Wings has been the inside defense, while the inside offense has improved since the inclusion of Teaira McCowan in the starting lineup. Allisha Gray has done her bit but overall, the Wings will really need to better the shot-selection and do a better job on the defensive end.

Performance Predictions

Highest rebounder: Teaira McCowan: 10
