Zenit needs to do better
CSKA forced 15 turnovers in Game 1 and apart from that their defense was incredible, limiting Zenit to 34% from the field and just 5/20 from the three-point line. CSKA itself didn’t shoot well from deep, nailing just 29% of them but the main advantage was drawn on the free-throw line, where CSKA converted 29 free-throws compared to 12 by Zenit, which proved to be a decisive factor indeed.
On the other hand, if we look at Players Performances then it was CSKA’s Casper Ware offensively, who got in 25 points and the all-around play of Nikolina Milutinov was equally impressive as he got a bunch of points, rebounds, and assists. For the Zenit team, only two players hit the double-digits, namely Jordan Loyd and Dmitri Kulagin in a highly one-sided affair.
