Suns: No stopping them in the Regular Season
The Suns have again proven that they are made to win the Regular Season window. Not much has changed since last season, they are straightaway winning a ton of games. They boast of the most efficient offense and one of the best defenses in the league. And with these two factors in the bag, hey, who is going to stop them? The early parts of the season have seen the Suns put on impressive runs and shut down the defensive end, with Mikal Bridges influencing the game in multiple ways.
Devin Booker continues to be one of the best players in the league and what a leap he has taken on defense! Chris Paul is in the twilight of his career but he remains a quality player. Cam Johnson has recovered from a slow start while the team is now blessed with a strong bench with Jock Landale making early impressions. Meanwhile, Cameron Payne is the back-up guard and has supplied quality minutes.
Timberwolves: Still a long way to go
The Timberwolves brought in Rudy Gobert to address their inconsistent defense last season while also bolster their size inside. Rudy has already had a 20-20 game and has been impressive with his help defense but oddly, the Wolves are giving up too many offensive rebounds and have allowed the opponents to dominate the boards. Their defense can be inconsistent too and the team is more comfortable with shootout scenarios.
But there are some positives. Anthony Edwards improved shooting means that they can run an offense that involves pull-ups in transitions, a fastbreak driving game with lane-fillers like McDaniels and an elite scorer in Karl Anthony-Towns. D’Angelo Russell can also fit well with the scoring lineup as a shooter and playmaker, whereas the bench has a quality shooter like Jaylen Nowell. However, the bench has shown more hiccups compared to last season, the team does miss Malik Beasley in that area.
