WAS vs DAL Dream11: The WNBA has been in a great flow and it bugs me how many people disrespect the athletes that participate there, working on their game for years, going through rigorous regimes to get where they are. This is surely sad considering that the game of the WNBA has a lot to offer in terms of the play at both ends of the floor. And as the Washington Mystics host the Dallas Wings, a lot of brilliant action will be on display.
The Wings have started with two wins and one loss whereas the Mystics have begun with three wins and one loss. The solitary loss of the Mystics came against the Wings just a few days ago as they overcame the red-hot Mystics 94:86. In that game, Arike Ogunbowale dropped 27 points while Elena Delle-Donne put in 20 points. Can the Mystics avenge their last loss?
Host: Dallas Wings Visitors: Washington Mystics Match Timing: 18 May, @ 05:30 AM (+05:30 UTC) Venue: College Park Center
Wings are streaky, the Mystics more thorough
The Wings largely depend upon the production of Arike Ogunbowale who can make tough threes off pull-ups and early in the shot-clock. She has a strong backcourt partnership alongside Gray and Mabrey, both capable all-around scorers. Meanwhile, Thornton and Harrison have provided the team with significant frontline production. Harrison is an incredible slasher while Thornton can score in variety of ways.
The Mystics like to work the ball-around and with Elena Della-Done back in the fray, they have looked even more productive. Her ability to score from different areas and use deceptive footwork has been huge. Ariel Atkins has been a sharpshooting presence. Meanwhile, Myisha Hines-Allen has come with an all-around presence. Rookie Shakira Austin is still finding her footing and can be a long-term inside presence. Katie Benzan has shown promise as an off-the-ball shooter, and the Mystics look deep from top to bottom.
