WST vs ON Dream11: The New Zealand Basketball League is now surely deep into the season and we have seen the playing level increase significantly over the years. There are a lot of talented athletes that are on display during the season of the NZBL and we can catch them when the Washington Saints take on the Otago Nuggets.
The Wellington Saints have not had a rich season so far, winning just four of their 12 games. They have lost three out of the last four games and they come into this game after getting knocked off 105-111 against Taranaki Airs despite a 32 points effort by Xavier Cooks. The Otago Nuggets have won six of their 12 games thus far. Their recent performances haven’t been encouraging, losing four out of their last five games, and currently on a two-game losing streak. They lost in the last game 74-105 despite a 19 points performance by Billy Boyd.

Saints’ defense has collapsed repeatedly
Wellington has struggled this season on the defensive end and their offense hasn’t been good enough to cover the tracks. They continuously give up 90+ which is way above the league’s average and while their offense isn’t exactly terrible, the defense leaves too much to do. The Saints’ leading scorer has been Xavier Cooks, averaging 20+ points. Xavier is also the leading rebounder with around 12+. Meanwhile, Mike Smith leads in assists with around 5 a game.
Nuggets need an offensive boost
The Nuggets’ offense has been in tatters for the last two games, figuring in the 70s and not able to get going from the field twice in a row. Their defense has also gotten worse in the last few games as they have given up 85+ regularly. Billy Boyd leads the team in scoring, averaging around 20 points a game whereas Sam Timmins has averaged 10+ rebounds a game. Tahjere McCalls has led in assists with around 4 a game.
Xavier has been in incredible touch and made 14 of his 20 shots. I believe he will be in 22-27 points, 10-14 rebounds, and 1-2 blocks/steals range.
Billy Boyd III(ON)
Billy made seven of his 14 shots and has had a strong scoring season. I believe she will be in 16-22 points, 4-6 assists, and 2-4 steals range. He can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBZL Prediction scenario.
Smith made 9 of his 19 shots and his playmaking has been impressive too. I believe he will be in 17-22 points and 6-9 assists range.
Sam made 6 of his 13 shots and he has been the rebounding leader for the Nuggets. I believe he will be in 10-14 points and 8-12 rebounds range.
Vodanovich made 4 of his 11 shots and is a solid rebounder. I expect a 10-18 points and 8-12 rebounds range.
Keith made 3 of his 13 shots but he has been doing a decent job as a scorer. I believe he will be in 14-21 points and 4-7 rebounds range.
Tanne has had a solid scoring season and I believe he will be in 11-15 points and 4-6 rebounds range.
Withers had an off night, shooting just three of 12 shots. I believe he will be in 8-13 points, 7-10 rebounds, and 1-3 blocks range.
Jordan’s scoring has been a bit off and so has his shooting percentage. I believe he will be in 7-10 points range.
Nikau made four of his seven shots and he has been much better on the scoring end. I believe he will be in 12-17 points range.
Tuffin made three out of the six shots in the last game. I believe she will be in 7-11 points range.
Darcy made one of his two shots. I believe he will be in 4-6 points and 2-4 rebounds range.
Walker can be in 2-5 points range.
Jack can be in 3-5 points and 2-3 rebounds range.
