How these team fared so far in the tournament?
Basketball is a different kind of team sport. It’s very hard, or near impossible, to nullify the big game players, and both Serbia and Italy have the rosters full of stars playing in the NBA for top teams.
So when FIBA announced the groups for the World Cup, it was clear that Serbia and Italy were the clear favorites to qualify from the Group.
So far, the group produced nothing different from what was expected with both the European giants winning their first two games quite easily.
Angola were mesmerized by the Serbians 59-105 in Game-1, before showing more resistance in the 61-92 defeat to Italy.
The Philippines, meanwhile, hardly arrived at the World Cup, losing both their games by a whopping 105 points, the worst +/- in the tournament so far.
