ATL vs NOP Dream11: The NBA Summer League is a great opportunity to see some of the most talented basketball players in the world. The motivation for various players seems to be in the fact that there are roster spots to be nabbed and for young players, rookies/sophomores this is a great opportunity to test the waters in the league. In this game between Atlanta Hawks and the New Orleans Pelicans, we will see a lot of talent.
The Hawks lost to the Jazz 66-72 despite a 15 points performance by Chaundee brown Jr. Rookie AJ Griffin missed the game due to foot soreness. On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 68-85 despite a 23 points performance by Trey Murphy III. Dyson Daniels, the much-heralded rookie for Pelicans only played eight minutes due to injury. Can these teams fix their offense?
Atlanta Hawks vs New Orleans Pelicans
Match Timing: 12 July, @ 04:30 AM (+05:30 UTC)
Venue: Las Vegas
Summer League: Tough one
The Summer League throws us curveballs when it comes to the fantasy scenario. Picks can fail as players can end up not playing at all due to the coaches deciding to give other players a run. There is no limit to the roster size and often there are scenarios where a player can drop 20 points in a game and yet don’t end up playing a single minute in the next game. More than winning, the mantra is to try out different players and see if there is a role player that can fulfill the roster. It is not just the squad under whose banner the player in playing, the playing field is open, anyone can end up signing anyone. Meanwhile, rookies and much established players use this as practice time.
Young talents for the squads
The Hawks opted to draft AJ Griffin past the lottery who is the lockdown defender type of wing with a penchant for hitting the long ball. His game needs a lot of work on the offensive end and as a rebounder but he presents a lot of promise. On the other hand, the Pelicans drafted Dyson Daniels who has an all-around toolkit but his offense will need a lot of work.
