Toronto Raptors:

Well, when LeBron James protracted move away from Cleveland Cavaliers finally happened, all the team in the Eastern Conference took a huge sigh of relief that he was heading to the West for the pastures new.

It was a very strange and a bold move from King James as the Western Conference is where the teams are more powerful, making his new team Los Angeles Lakers’ journey to the playoffs a tad more difficult than he had endured with the Cavaliers in his last four seasons.

Now with LeBron gone, and Cavaliers not the same force anymore, Toronto can aim for the East. And the talent they possess in their ranks, this should be the least of their targets this season.

Kawhi Leonard’s move from San Antonio Spurs has only made the Raptors even more formidable inside the arc. The 2014 MVP remains a standout talent on a Basketball court, and his fitness level will certainly have a huge role in how far Toronto actually travel in the regular season and beyond that.

Boston Celtics:

The team that is expected to dominate the Eastern Conference is certainly the most successful franchise in NBA history, Boston Celtics.

They reaffirm that claim in their season opener after putting in a near-perfect performance against another high-profile team in Philadelphia 76ers.

The Greens were sluggish at the start of the game but soon picked up the pace and closed down the first half with 5 points advantage.

Celtics came out in the 2nd half with all guns blazing and went on a 14-5 run at the start. They never fell behind after that run and won the match 105-87 at TD Garden.

That win improved their home record to 10 straight wins over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Season Record-
Toronto Raptors: W-1, L-0
Boston Celtics: W-0, L-0

Players to watch out for:

Toronto Raptors:

Kawhi Leonard – The former San Antonio Spurs man had a season to forget last year. He was restricted to just 9 games all season by his nagging quad injuries. But in the first game with his new team, he showed his class and despite making a slow start, he found the rhythm and ended up scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds in the match.

Kyle Lowry – Arguably, their main man after Kawhi Leonard. He didn’t disappoint in the first game, and in fact, led the scoring chart for his team with 27 points and 8 assists in the game.

Boston Celtics –

Jayson Tatum – If Boston Celtics are being touted as the team to rise in the Eastern Conference, it is partly because they have Jayson Tatum in their ranks, arguably the best young player in NBA. The 21-year-old had a good game last time around, racking up 23 points against the Sixers.

Kyrie Irving – The former Cavaliers man endured a rather unfamiliar bad start in the match. He was on the court for 29 minutes but could only manage 7 points in the game. However, it was his first match following a pair of surgeries on his left knee, so his sluggish start is acceptable. But Irving is one of the best players in NBA and he will get into the groove, that’s a certainty.

Toronto Raptors: For the home team, OG Anunoby is a major doubt. The 21-year-old Small-Forward started the last match but left the court after sustaining a face injury. He remains a doubt.

Also, Delon Wright had to sit out the last game with a thigh injury, but there are reports that he took a part in Thursday’s practice. Still, he is questionable for the match. Chris Boucher has also been listed as questionable ahead of this match.

Boston Celtics: Boston Celtics don’t have any issues here. They are expected to be the same at the start which took on Philadelphia 76ers in the last match.

BOS vs TOR DREAM11 Fantasy Team:

At the end of the season, both these team could easily finish the regular season at 1st and 2nd place respectively.

It’s a very hard call, but we are going with a home win here.

Toronto to win the match.
