CHA vs MEM Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Memphis Grizzlies meet Charlotte Hornets in an NBA match at FedExForum, in downtown Memphis, Tennessee as the hosts look to avoid their seventh consecutive defeat on Thursday morning (IST).

Memphis Grizzlies:
It was a good chance which Memphis Grizzlies let go when they faced a shorthanded Toronto Raptors a few days ago. It was a deliberate move though by Raptors’ head-coach Nick Nurse to rest Kawhi Leonard, still, it was an opportunity to snap a four-game losing streak.

But Danny Green erupted in the match for some career-best displays, burying eight three-pointers to finish the match with 24 points. The former San Antonio Spurs man was as clinical as any shooting guard could be on a Basketball court.

The opportunity presented itself again in the last game when they faced New Orleans Pelicans. This time the Pelicans were without their superstar Anthony Davis. But Grizzlies ended up on a sorry note this time as well, losing 85-105, their sixth consecutive loss.

The hope of finishing in the playoff position is getting slim with each game. But the top-8 finish is still possible, at least mathematically. But Memphis (19-28) have to start winning games, on a more regular basis.

Charlotte Hornets:
Indiana Pacers were too powerful on the day for Charlotte Hornets as they fell to a 120-95 loss at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in Indiana. It was not unexpected and not out of blue considering how Pacers have been performing of late.

But the visitors were in the midst of a good run, going into the match on a three-game winning streak. And that’s why it felt like a surrender, and in particular against a team which lost its last game, and had certain starters struggling for scoring touch.

The start was fatal, as Pacers went on a 22-5 run in the first quarter which proved to be a too big a mountain for Hornets to climb, and the visitors could never catch their hosts.

But it was not a 100m sprint, Hornets had to endure which they did, and it showed in their performance as well. The first 11 points were scored by Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb, while the others took too long to warm up for the match. Too late!

But Charlotte spurted in bits and pieces, cutting down the first half deficit of 17 points to just 5 points at the break. Pacers, though, didn’t succumb and rose again, extending their lead to 12 points after the three quarters.

Hornets went within 10 points at the start of the last quarter, but it was as closest as they went. Pacers then went on a 14-4 run in the last quarter to move out of reach and won the match.

Hornets (22-24 and 8th in the table) have performed well up until now. The quality in the Eastern Conference is not as high as it is in the West. But they can’t take anything for granted, not even in the East. Because Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic all are a few games away from catching them.

Regular Season Record-
Memphis Grizzlies:
W-19, L-28
Charlotte Hornets:
W-22, L-24

Players to watch out for:

Memphis Grizzlies:
Mike Conley –
Scored 20 points in the last match in a losing cause against New Orleans Pelicans. But he is having a good season so far, as he is averaging his career best during the current campaign. The 31-year-old is dropping points at 19.8 per game.
Marc Gasol – His future is up in the air at the moment but there is no denying that the 33-year-old Spanish legend is one of Grizzlies’ best player this season. The former Los Angeles Lakers man is averaging 15.3 points per game at an efficiency rate of 17.05.

Charlotte Hornets:
Kemba Walker –
Hornets’ biggest hope for a playoff position and for some a player who deserves trophies and medals to do justice to his immense talent. The 28-year-old is racking up 25 points per game this season, only player to average in the 20s for Hornets this season. His season best is absolutely mind-blowing as he dropped 60 points against the Sixers. Still, Hornets lost the match.
Russell Westbrook – The second in the list is Jeremy Lamb, the 2012 first round 12th overall pick by Houston Rockets. The 6’5’’ shooting guard is dropping 15.1 points per game this season.

CHA vs MEM Dream11 Fantasy Team:

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:

Memphis Grizzlies currently have a joint second longest losing streak, six games to be precise. But can they snap it up against Charlotte Hornets? Yes they can as Hornets are not in the best of form either.
Kemba Walker, however, remains a big threat for Grizzlies. He can single-handedly destroy them. Stop him, or muffle his movement and Grizzlies may win the match.
But we are backing Hornets to win this match.
