CHI vs MIN Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Chicago Bulls will be looking for their 10th win of the season when they host Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA at United Center in Chicago, Illinois, on Thursday morning (IST).

Chicago Bulls:

The benign fixture list in the last two games saw Chicago Bulls win two consecutive games for the very first time this season. Though the results didn’t help the team greatly in the Eastern Conference table, the momentum may be used in the next few games.

Long gone is the era of Michael Jordan when the franchise was so used to winning the titles that any result other than their win was considered as a shock or an anomaly. Their last NBA title came in the 1997-98 season, Jordan’s final year with Bulls. Since then it’s been a long walk down the hill. Obscurity of sorts for the franchise which ruled the roost in terms of selling merchandise.

However, despite no title, Bulls have been a mainstay in the playoffs. In fact, they have missed just three postseasons in the last 14 seasons, including the 2017-18 campaign where they finished 13th which was their lowest finish since the 2003-04 season.

Now it looks that the six-time NBA champions are going to plunge lower down in the table. As things stand, they remain 13th in the Eastern Conference, a win percentage of just 0.265. Now it is expected to go even lower in the next few weeks as Chicago will be facing some of the giants and the high-performing teams in that period. The likes of Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz all will be facing them.

Minnesota Timberwolves:

The visitors will be wrapping up their three-game road trip with a match against the Chicago Bulls. And to be true, this is the easiest of the assignments of the three fixtures which also had San Antonio Spurs, which they lost 98-124 and Oklahoma City Thunder’s name on it.

Wolves shocked every NBA pundit and the fans with their display against Thunder. Not many gave them the slightest of chance on the road and against a formidable and an in-form Thunder’s team which has Paul George firing on all cylinders. And to make the task even more daunting for Minnesota was their away form. Prior to the meeting with Oklahoma, they had played 15 away games, winning just two times in those matches. While bettering that record against Oklahoma was certainly not considered as an achievable target for the visitors.

Riding on Andrew Wiggins’ stellar 30-point show, Wolves produced a shock result at Chesapeake Energy Arena. But the hosts didn’t go down without a fight.

The Wolves opened the match with a 35-25 win in the 1st quarter only to be dragged down to earth by Thunder’s incredible 38-point show in the 2nd quarter against Timberwolves’ 18 points. The hosts took home a 10-point lead into the interval.

But something strange happened after the break as Oklahoma struggled from every nook and corner on the court and Minnesota ended up winning the quarter 33-17 and never fell behind after that.

Regular Season Record-
Chicago Bulls: W-9, L-25
Minnesota Timberwolves: W-15, L-18

Players to watch out for:
Chicago Bulls:
Lauri Markkanen – In the absence of Zach LaVine, Markkanen takes the centre stage for Bulls. The 21-year-old is leading the charge for his team and is dropping 17.5 points per game this season. He also dropped a game-high 31 points in the last match against Cleveland Cavaliers.
Kris Dunn – Missed the first 27 games of the season with an ankle injury but he is back fit now and is dropping a good amount of points per game. The 24-year-old is going for 14.7 points per game and has scored two times in the 20s in the last five games heading into this match.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Karl-Anthony Towns – With Jimmy Butler becoming the part of Minneosta Timberwolves’ hisotry, Karl-Anthony Towns is the future if Wolves manage to hold on to this star. At 23, he is still an unfinished product. For the season, he is dropping more than 20 points per game.
Andrew Wiggins – He was at his devastating best against Oklahoma City Thunder as he dropped a team-high 30 points in the game. The 23-year-old is going for 16.7 points per game.

CHI vs MIN Dream11 TEAM NEWS:
Chicago Bulls:
Injured – Chicago Bulls’ problems this season can be trimmed down to the long injury list they have been enduring all season. But none dangerous than Zach LaVine who is team’s biggest star and is still nursing an ankle injury.
While Bobby Portis and Denzel Valentine (Both Ankle) remain long-term absentees.
Questionable – Also, Jabari Parker missed the last game with an illness while Cameron Payne is suffering from a calf problem. Both the players are expected to be assessed ahead of the match.
Suspended – None

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Injured – The visitors will be without Jeff Teague once again as the 30-year-old guard is still recovering from an ankle injury.
Questionable – While Chicago Bulls’ favourite son and now on Mavericks’ books, Derricks Rose missed the last game against Oklahoma City Thunder with a sore ankle. However, the 2011 NBA MVP’s situation is not serious and he is expected to be assessed ahead of this match.
Suspended – None.
