Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Match Timing: December 19, 2018, @ 05:30 AM IST
NBA Regular Season
Venue – Bankers Life Fieldhouse
Capacity- 20,000

The red-hot Indiana Pacers host a beleaguered Cleveland Cavaliers team in an NBA match at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday morning (IST).

Indiana Pacers:

Victor Oladipo showed his worth once again as he dropped a game-high 26 points as Indiana Pacers beat New York Knicks 110-99 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The 26-year-old has taken the mantle of team’s superstar with a gusto and is Pacers’ best-performing player this season.

The Pacers are on a roll at the moment, on a seven-game winning streak coming into this match, and have beaten some of the in-form teams like Sacramento Kings, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers in that imperious run.

Against Knicks, Pacers won all the quarters and led the game for the most part of the game. Domantas Sabonis starred from the bench and did his offensive work to the best of his ability, dropping 13 points and an impressive 12 rebounds in the game.

Cleveland Cavaliers:

Cleveland Cavaliers can take a cue or two from Indiana Pacers’ book about how to deal with the loss of your biggest star. Just a year ago, they lost Paul George to Oklahoma City Thunder, leaving the team bereft of a genuine star’s quality to take the team and the franchise forward.

And after signing Victor Oladipo, look where they finished in the table at the end of 2017-18 regular season- a fifth-place finish was not something many NBA pundits predicted for them.

Though many would argue that Cavaliers were never really prepared for the inevitable departure of LeBron James, the manager, the head coach and everybody else concerned with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ business could have taken the responsibility of recharging the squad depth in the off-season.

Cavaliers just failed to sign a genuine star and put all their faith on Kevin love’s shoulders. The situation became even worse for the 2-16 NBA Champions after Love suffered a foot injury at the start of the season.

And now from challenging the might of Golden State Warriors in the last four seasons to falling into the obscurity of the foot of the table, Cavaliers may have to wait for another home-grown player like Lebron James to dig them out of the hole.

At the moment, they are 14th in the table with just seven wins from 30 games. They have also lost all their six games against the fellow division’s teams, are 5-12 at home and 2-11 on the road. Nothing is good for the Cavs at the moment.

Regular Season Record-
Indiana Pacers: W-17, L-12
Cleveland Cavaliers: W-16, L-13

Players to watch out for:
Indiana Pacers:
Victor Oladipo – He has become an indispensable part of the squad since trading for Indiana Pacers last season. His average for the season is 20.8 points per game and he remains the only player in Pacers’ rank to average in the 20s this season.
Bojan Bogdanovic – He can pop up with big numbers in the game and is averaging 2nd most points for Indiana Pacers this season.

Cleveland Cavaliers:

Jordan Clarkson – The 26-year-old is scoring the most points for cavaliers this season and is averaging 16.7 points per game this season.
Collin Sexton – the 2nd in the list is Collin Sexton who is averaging 15.3 points per game. While Tristan Thompson is also having a good season, averaging 12.0 points and a team-high 11.6 rebounds per game this season.

Indiana Pacers:
Injured – Tyreke Evans is the only player who has been ruled out of the match with a knee injury. All the big guns are available for selection in this match.
Questionable – None.

Cleveland Cavaliers:
Injured – For Cavaliers no injury can be big enough than the one keeping Kevin Love away from the action. The 31-year-old is suffering from a foot injury and will be missing the match.
Also, John Henson (wrist injury) and Tristan Thompson (foot injury) both have been ruled out as well with the respective injuries.
While J.R. Smith is expected to miss the match due to some personal reasons.

CLE vs IND Dream11 Fantasy Team:

There is only one result we can see in this match- A big home win. Although Cavaliers can pull off a win the moral is down and nobody seems to be taking over the responsibility to change the current bad phase.
