DAL vs DEN Dream11: COVID-19 has been keeping many players at bay and thus, the league has allowed more flexibility to allow multiple players on the ten-day deals, and the relaxed quarantine rules have also helped the matters. And as long as the league and its athletes keep striving, so will the readers and writers of the association will keep on associating with it.
Anyway, in this game, the Dallas Mavericks take on the Denver Nuggets in a prototypical Western Conference battle. The Mavericks just got their ace Luka Doncic back after a ten-game absence and have played some gritty basketball. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have relied upon their ace Nikola Jokic for most of the damage but some role players have escalated their play lately.
There is the philosophy of “Winner takes All” with which I wholly disagree. There are NBA teams who have never won an NBA championship but still does it mean that they have no right to exist? There is the Dallas Mavericks team that has fought and battled hard and despite an 18 wins and 18 losses record, they have kept their tails up ever against elite teams.
On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets have played much better basketball past the mid-December window. They have 18 wins and losses, and they have caught up after falling behind the 50% win mark earlier. This is largely due to role players like Aaron Gordon, Monte Morris, Will Barton, and Facundo Campazzo providing great balance game in and game out. Host: Dallas Mavericks Visitors: Denver Nuggets Match Timing: 4 January, @ 07:00 AM Venue: American Airlines Center
Mavericks: Luka is back! When Doncic was gone, the biggest issue for the Mavericks was closing out games after remaining close all contest long. This singular issue could have helped them secure a 22-14 record instead of an 18-18 record as of now. Doncic is superb at hitting late-game shots and putting more pressure on the opposition. The Mavericks offensive and defensive schemes are solid, they are well-coached and the combination of Doncic, Porzingis, Brunson, and Hardaway Jr. gives them four solid inside and outside players. The Mavericks have superb defenders in Bullock, Finney-Smith, and Powell while the play of replacement player Marquisse Chriss has been no less impressive. Overall, the Mavericks may not have that much depth at wing or off-guard but they have a solid-looking lineup that can hold down both ends regularly.
Nuggets: Different players have aided Jokic Earlier in the season, I constantly lamented the lack of support from other players to Jokic especially with defensive stalwart Michael Porter Jr. down with an injury. However, Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo first stepped up to fill the void of Jamal Murray to a certain extent while Aaron Gordon showed immense improvements in terms of scoring compared to earlier in the season. The bench is suspect at times with little to no depth in the frontline but the team has battled on, riding the prime accumulation of their Superstar Center Nikola Jokic. It is true that Nikola has continued to shoulder the major load but one other thing is also true, the Nuggets have found different actors who have stepped up their game and with Will Barton acting as the second playmaker apart from Jokic, if the Nuggets fix the defensive end, they will win 63-67% of their upcoming games(IN MY HUMBLE OPINION).
