Los Angeles Clippers will be looking to snap their four-game losing streak when they host Dallas Mavericks in an NBA match at Staples Center, in Los Angeles, on Friday morning (IST).

Los Angeles Clippers:
If the Los Angeles Clippers’ fast start to the new season was like a stroll on a downward slope, then the current skid feels more like a laborious movement towards the peak of a mountain.

Tired legs, no direction and without any helpful scourge, Clippers are staring at the obscurity already which comes with the NBA postseason for teams not in the top-8 in their respective conferences.

However the season is long, and every team has a chance to finish in the playoff positions. And for Clippers, it’s very much in their sight and within reachable distances, as they are sixth in the Western Conference coming into this match.

But we are talking about their current form which is not good enough. It’s a streak which has brought them only three wins in the last ten matches. And no wonder from leading the table at one stage they are now in danger of falling out of the top-8.

Clippers should look at their current form through a wide gaping telescope as Western Conference is merciless. The real battle is here in this area of NBA. The powerhouses franchises like Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans are not even in the top eight at the moment. And only a fool would rule out these teams from the playoffs contentions.

So the scenario for Clippers can change drastically in the coming weeks and from being one of the contenders for the postseason they may soon become the part of chasing pack.

Dallas Mavericks:
Dallas Mavericks are on a three-game losing streak heading into this match. Though two of those losses have come against good teams. An in-form and talented Sacramento Kings beat them 113-120 while the 126-118 loss against Denver Nuggets, arguably one of the best teams in NBA this season, came as a no surprise.

But the one which may be haunting them still was a 99-89 defeat against Phoenix Suns.

With just seven wins this season, Suns are at the foot of the Western Conference table and possess the joint-worst record in NBA this season. These are the results which can leave aspiring teams with a hammer blow to their mindsets, and Mavericks may be enduring this at this very moment.

As mentioned above, they have lost two more games and now sit outside the playoffs positions for the first time this season.

Dallas gave a good fight to Nuggets in the last match, holding them to within one point after the first quarter. But the current Western leaders then started to pull away and had a 10 point lead going into the penultimate quarter.

Regular Season Record-
Los Angeles Clippers: W-17, L-13
Dallas Mavericks: W-15, L-14

Players to watch out for:
Los Angeles Clippers:
Tobias Harris – A top-class talent in Los Angeles Clippers’ roster, Tobias Harris is a key for his team’s ambitions this season. The 26-year-old New York-born Small-Forward is scoring points at 21.8 per game and remains the only Clippers’ player to average in the 20s this season.
Danilo Gallinari – He can make a difference and is quite consistent in scoring. Only once he had failed to touch the double-digit mark this season, in the 118-125 loss to Washington Wizards where he could score just three points. The 30-year-old can be a shrewd addition to any team.

Dallas Mavericks:
Luka Doncic – Dallas’ best player this season is the 19-year-old Luka Doncic who is averaging 18.4 points per game this season. He also scored 23 points in the last match against Denver Nuggets, showing his increasing confidence.
Harrison Barnes – At 26, he is a seasoned player in this young Dallas side. The Ames born player is scoring at 18.2 points per game this season. Againats Nuggets, he dropped a team-high 30 points, his joint-best highest score this season.

Los Angeles Clippers:
Injured – Luc Mbah a Moute (knee injury), Jerome Robinson (Foot injury) and Lou Williams (Muscle Injury) all have been ruled out from the match with injuries.
Questionable – None.
Suspended – None

Dallas Mavericks:
Injured – The visitors don’t have fresh injury concerns to be worried about at the moment.
Questionable – However, Maximilian Kleber is carrying a toe injury and is likely to be assessed ahead of the match. Also, Dorian Finney-Smith recovered from a wrist injury before the clash against Denver Nuggets but he played and should be fine for this game as well.
Suspended – None
