DAL vs NYK Dream11: NBA is moving towards the Postseason window and we are heading into dangerous territory for the teams that are vying for the Play-in spots or are looking to solidify top spots. This is the area where you can argue that many teams play with a Playoffs like intensity because the time is running out at this point and you can’t afford to fall behind way behind at this point. So, yes, keeping that in mind, let us jump into the game between the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks.
The Mavericks have risen through the ranks since January and they have made a lot of noise, registering a better number of wins than even Warriors since that month. Their defense is definitely one of the best in the league and bringing in Spencer Dinwiddie during the trade deadline surely brought great changes.
On the other hand, the Knicks have been struggling rather way too much and with each month, they have kept on falling off. They have won two games in a row and believe it or not despite struggling for most parts, they still stand a chance to squeeze a spot for the Play-in tournament. Can the Knicks get it together to make a deep run?

Dynamics, roster complexions, journeys The Knicks and the Mavericks have been at the opposite sides of the pole when it comes to their performance. Just in terms of team chemistry, there are a lot of issues for the Knicks while the Mavericks have been clicking as a unit. The major reason for the Mavericks’ success has been that coach Kidd has done a lot without having to put up a “big three” or “All-Star model” and to hammer the point home, the team shipped away Porzingis to achieve more balance on the defensive end and ensure that the bench is bolstered. The Knicks have been unable to find such depth, flailing against elite teams and shooting awfully from the floor during most of the nights.
Talking about shooting, it isn’t like that the Mavericks are an elite offensive team but they have played such a great brand of defense that the teams are tired around the fourth quarter mark. When it comes to closing out games, there has been a huge difference between the Knicks and the Mavs. For the Mavs, having Luka Doncic means they have someone who is bound to come up with quality shooting down the stretch, which hasn’t been the case for the Knicks. The Mavericks have surely been one of the best teams in the fourth quarter. Their defense picks up even further in the last quarter and they are able to close out games.
The Mavericks have three special Point guards, with Doncic as the leader, Brunson as a dependable scorer and playmaker while Spencer Dinwiddie has given a new dimension to the Mavericks guard position. For the Knicks, the guard position has been vulnerable and their Point Guards have usually struggled to get going, especially Alec Burks. While two-guard RJ Barrett has heated up recently and Immanuel Quickley at the guard position has also picked up his game recently. Meanwhile, Fournier as the off-guard has struggled at times and has been unable to gain cohesion during this season.
When it comes to the Forward position, the Knicks have a dynamic big Forward in Julius Randle while the Center position is held by Mitchell Robinson. The Mavericks have a stronger frontline in terms of defense with their defensive anchor Dorian Finney-Smith, dependable wing Reggie Bullock, serviceable center in Dwight Powell while Maxi Kleber brings terrific rebounding and defense off the bench. The Mavericks have more defensive depth at the moment in multiple positions and their ability to close out games give them an edge over the Knicks overall.

Luka Doncic(DAL) Points: 35 Rebounds: 16 Assists: 07 Steals: 03 Blocks: 01 Doncic is my pick for MVP because he has propelled Dallas to so many wins and he brings, playmaking, improved defense, and a LOT of scoring to the plate. The guard has made it a routine to drop 30+ points, grab 8+ rebounds, and dish 6+ assists. He can be considered as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 49-73
Julius Randle(NYK) Points: 46 Rebounds: 10 Assists: 02 Blocks: 01 Steals: 01 Power Forward Julius has been doing a brilliant job as an all-around player, notching big-time boards and with much more sustained offensive effort. The Forward has scored 24 or more in three of the last four games, while grabbing 6-10 rebounds, and dishing 3-7 assists range these days. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 38-62 RJ Barrett(NYK) Points: 29 Rebounds: 08 Assists: 06 Barrett has been a terrific presence at the guard position but he needs to fix his recurring offensive inconsistencies to become an All-star level player. Barrett has been in 24-30 points, 5-9 rebounds, and 4-7 assists range these days. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 33-49
Spencer Dinwiddie(DAL) Points: 23 Rebounds: 03 Assists: 02 Dinwiddie is a prime example of inserting a player into the right system and seeing the results follow, he has been thriving with Dallas both as a scorer and playmaker. The Guard has been usually in the 19-26 points and 5-9 assists range, benefits from playing alongside Doncic. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 23-37
Immanuel Quickley(NYK) Points: 27 Rebounds: 06 Assists: 04 Steals: 01 Immanuel has put his shooting woes and he has hit a sweet spot offensively recently, staking a claim for being a future starting PG for the team that has a weakened one-guard spot. The Guard has scored 21 or more in three of the last five games while grabbing 5+ rebounds. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 24-34
Dorian Finney-Smith(DAL) Points: 21 Rebounds: 05 Assists: 02 Steals: 01 Since Porzingis is gone, the defensive big Forward has picked up his scoring big time and has become a formidable two-way Forward. He has usually been in 14-18 points and 5-9 rebounds range these days. Expected Fantasy Points Range: 20-30
