DEN vs POR Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Denver Nuggets showed why they are the 2nd seeded as they outmuscled Portland Trail Blazers in Game-1 of the Western Conference semifinal, winning the match 121-113 at Pepsi Center to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

The win was far from easy though, as the hosts had to overcome some obstacles.

One of was their own psychological barrier. For Nuggets couldn’t win a second-round NBA playoff game since 2009. That was some obstacles. There were history and an invisible burden that the team had to fight against.

Then there was another, perhaps more tangible in the form of Damian Lillard. He has been carrying his team in the playoffs this season like a man on some mission. He was fresh from destroying the Oklahoma City Thunder, and still basking in the glory of ending the dreams of their talented players like Russell Westbrook and Paul George. All with a time-defying Buzzer-Beater.

Lillard kept trying till the end, racking up points and keeping his team in the hunt. But Gary Harris made an incredible three-point block just two minutes before the regular time. It was enough to put off the Blazers.

The visitors can only blame themselves for the loss. One of the biggest spoilers for Blazers was the Turnovers.

There were 30 in total in the match with Portland committing a whopping 18, while Nuggets gave away 12.

But the hosts were more efficient in the counter-attack as they made 23 points from 18 turnovers, while Blazers could manage only 6 takeaways.

It was a good offensive game, but I thought the turnovers really made the difference,” Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said.

The 2nd game will be played in Denver, and Portland can’t afford a 0-2 deficit in the series.

Regular Season Record-
Denver Nuggets: W-54, L-28
Portland Trail Blazers: W-53, L-29

Players to watch out for:

Denver Nuggets:
Nikola Jokic –
Nikola Jokic produced another typical performance as he forced his way to score a memorable 37 points in Game-1 to set up a win for Nuggets. The big Serb also added 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Nuggets are a young team, in fact, the youngest alive in the playoffs this season. And Jokic is the fulcrum of what Nuggets do and dare to dream in this series and beyond.

He was as efficient as a player can be on the court as he made 11-of-18 shots and converted all 12 of his free throws.

Jamal Murray – He scored 23 points which he scored by making several clutch shots. But his team-high 8 assists helped Nuggets better in the offense. He also committed just one turnover in the match.

Portland Trail Blazers:
Damian Lillard – Scored enough in the match to win the game for Blazers, but the fine margins cost the team dearly. He finished the match with a game-high 39 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists.

@AP

But this was not a vintage Lillard performance by any stretch as he committed half a dozen turnovers, and could shot on 4-0f-12 from the arc.

CJ McCollum – Lillard’s sidekick endured a tough game as well. He had just 16 points in the match and gave away several freebies to the hosts. But the 27-year-old is a vital cog in Blazers’ wheel.
