GSW vs CLE DREAM11 NBA Finals Prediction, Game-1, 1st June – Fantasy Team News

Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA Finals, Game- 1

GSW vs CLE DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

For the fourth consecutive year, we have the same two teams fighting for the glory in the NBA finals. Once again it’s Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers who will be facing their ultimate nemesis, super-star-studded Golden State Warriors, who are far more talented as a unit than the team from Cleveland in this 7-game series.

Thanks to their better regular season record, the defending champions are at home in the first two games, giving Steve Kerr’s team a significant advantage in this season-defining series. The Cavs, no doubt, will start the series as underdogs as they have in the past three seasons and all their hopes will rely on the broad shoulders of Lebron James.

We can have all the discussion we want about team games and how teams need to tick from all corners to achieve great things. But in Cavaliers’ case, it’s been a one-man show all the way.

In the 18 games so far in the playoffs, James has touched the magical 40 point mark in a staggering 7 games, 3-times against the Celtics and Pacers where the series went to the 7th game, while he also scored 25 points or more in another 8 separate games, making his achievements as the best ever in the playoffs in NBA history.

So for Steve Kerr, everything is as clear as the truth and the truth is he has to devise a plan to stop the Juggernaut of Basketball. It’s easier said than done as no head-coach has managed to achieve this season, but it’s Warriors we are talking about.

The dubs, on the other hand, were pushed to the limits by Houston Rockets in the Western Conference finals series, giving enough indication that Stephen Curry and teammates can be beaten in a 7-game series.

Also, the defending champions don’t really look like a well-oiled team in the defensive department as they have been during the last season. No doubt Draymond Green was selected only in the 2nd All-Defensive Team, while he was the reigning Defensive player of the year.

It’s good for the series actually, as we may, at last, see a closely fought match-up in the NBA finals.

Form of the Team-

Golden State Warriors
Golden State Warriors finished the regular season at 2nd in the Western Conference, 7 games worse off than houston Rockets. They swept aside both Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans in the five games in the 1st two rounds of this season’s playoffs. But Houston Rockets proved to be a far more difficult opponent to negotiate as the Western Conference finals series went into the 7th game which Warriors won 4-3 courtesy of 101-92 win in the last game.

In the 17 playoffs games this season, Steve Kerr’s men have won 12 and lost just 5, while at home the Dubs have lost just once in this postseason.

Cleveland Cavaliers-

Cavaliers finished the regular season at a disappointing 4th place in the Eastern Conference. In the regular season, they have been so poor that at one point, they were in danger of missing out on the playoffs. That’s why not many backed them to go far when the postseason started. But thanks to LeBron James’ brilliance, Cavaliers are in the finals for the fourth consecutive season.

The Cavs won the first round series 4-3 against Indiana Pacers and then made the easy meal of Toronto Raptors in the semifinals as Cavaliers thumped them in the first 4 games, whilst Tyronn Lue’s team had to dig deep in the Eastern finals against Boston Celtics.

In the 8 playoffs games so far, Cavaliers have won 13 and lost 6 times in those games, while at home, only Pacers have beaten Cavs in the postseason.

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
Golden State Warriors are at home in the first two games and considering how Dubs have performed in the last 19 home games in the playoffs, there is only one winner.
However, Lebron James seems to be playing with some personal goals in his mind and he looked so steadfast in his approach that at some point in the postseason, he really looked an unstoppable force.
But still, we are backing Warriors to win the first game of this series.
