GSW vs LAL Dream11: NBA trade deadline came and went, many of the teams made their moves and this is one of the reasons why the complexion of the remaining season can shift dramatically. This is usually the case with the trade deadline, but well there are some also squads that remain quiet around this time, there can be multiple reasons for that, well, some of them are already established and content with what they have, well others are unable to craft trades that can lure the other team. Keeping that in mind, let us jump into the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Warriors have the second-best record in the league and despite a two-game losing streak, they have been doing a great job right now overall. They continue to display their depth and after missing Draymond Green, they made huge adjustments to their lineup. The team has built a terrific guard depth and they keep on mounting prolific efforts.
On the other hand, the Lakers have been doing a terrible job at winning games and they have four more losses than wins. LA Lakers formed a strong combination of LeBron, Davis, and Westbrook, but the combination hasn’t worked out so far. Their defense keeps on letting the fans down and they haven’t seen a huge winning spell yet.
Host: Golden State Warriors
Visitors: Los Angeles Lakers
Match Timing: 13 February, @ 07:00 AM
Venue: Chase Center
Warriors: Championship aspirations
The Warriors are loaded with winning talent at the NBA level from the main five to the reserve positions. What makes the team special is that most of the players have now the experience of playing together for five years or more while even the young players have been here since their rookie year and have gelled well with the core that has been playing for many years. Curry, Looney, Thompson, and Green have played together for a long time, and now with young Poole, and now another long-term Warriors in Wiggins along with Lee, Toscano-Anderson, Bjelica, Iguodala, and Porter Jr., the team has built a deep squad.
Curry has upped his playmaking since Green has been down and he is a well-known sharpshooter and defender at the perimeter too. On the other hand, Thompson has looked coming firing off the gates and he is back to his old shooting ways and you know one of those 30+ points games is coming from home. Poole is a starting-level guard and that is what makes this team special, their reserves Otto Porter Jr. and Bjelica have been starters too. Rookie Kuminga has been highly effective with his scoring while Looney is a brilliant rebounder and help defender. Lee, Toscano-Anderson, and Moody round off a terrific bench.
Lakers: Words are not enough to relate the disappointment
Forget the record, it is the manner in which the Lakers lose that has frustrated the fanbase. The elite teams don’t even take their defense seriously and score against them with no regard to their defense. The defense that has faltered game in and game out. The lack of hustle and tendency to give up offensive rebounds on a regular basis has hurt the team which already gives up points early in the shot-clock. This is the theme for the season and when you have an elite offensive team, you are coming with a lot of confidence against the Lakers. The team couldn’t land any two-way wing or guard in the trade deadline and that can deter any winning run.
Then, of course, Russell Westbrook has not been comfortable with the Lakers system. He has been the butt of jokes for a long time but hey, I will keep saying, give Westbrook a team to run and surround him with some off-the-catch shooters, a rim-running Center, and two-way wing, with others comfortable playing off the ball, he can be highly effective, I don’t think he is just made to paly alongside big-time superstars unless he makes some adjustments (Play as a slashing shooting-guard with LeBron as the Point Forward?). Heaven knows what is in store but yes, the team needs Carmelo too, who gives bench boost while Monk has had a strong season. More consistency is also wanted out of Talen Horton-Tucker.
