Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks

NBA Regular Season

Los Angeles Lakers host Dallas Mavericks in NBA action on Thursday morning (IST) at Staples Center, in Los Angeles.

Lakers are set to miss out on NBA playoff for yet another season as they are 10 games adrift of Minnesota Timberwolves who are 8th in the table, last playoff spot.

But this season, the Lakers have shown improvement, and have already bettered their last season’s record.

In 2017, Lakers finished 2nd bottom and could only manage 26 wins all season. And though their overall record this season is negative as they have lost more games at home and away than they won, there are enough reasons to feel positive for them.

One of the reason is Lakers acquired the services of Isaiah Thomas in the mid-season transfer window. He will only improve this young team, and with Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle and Kyle Kuzma, all showing improvements from last season, Lakers have all the ingredients to challenge the likes of Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers next season.

Though, the same can’t be said about Dallas Mavericks who have been termed as one of the worst team in NBA this season.

The Mavericks are 13th in Western Conference, three places and nine games worse off than their host in this match.

It’s only the pride to play for Dallas, perhaps, not the worst goal in the world.

Match Timing: Tomorrow, March 29, 08:00 AM IST

Capacity- 21,000

Form of the Team-

Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers lost five times in the last six games. Detroit Pistons beat them 112-16 in the last game, and ended their two-game winning streak.

As a team, Lakers are averaging 108.4 points this season, making them the 10th best team in NBA in 2017-18, and allowing 110 points against them.

Last season, the 16-time NBA Champions managed 104.8, so they have certainly made improvement as a team.

While Lakers are shooting at 46.1 from beyond the arc and allowing the opposition 45.8 successful shooting rate.

Dallas Mavericks-

Dallas Mavericks won their last game 103-97 against Sacramento Kings and ended their five-game losing streak. In fact, Dallas have lost six of their last eight games. So they could use a victory against Lakers to improve their patch statistics this season.

As a team, Mavericks are averaging 102.7 points and shooting at 44.7 rates from beyond the arc. While the opposition are racking up points at 105. points against them. That’s a negative record and the visitors need to perform well against their hosts who are quite an aggressive team.
