Los Angeles Lakers host San Antonio Spurs in an NBA match at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, on Tuesday.

Los Angeles Lakers have lost the opening two games. The season opener 128-119 away against Portland Trail Blazers, and the 2nd, 115-124 against Houston Rockets which was also LeBron James’ home debut.

The game at the Staples Center was anything but a normal matchup between the team eyeing the early momentum for the season ahead. This was the encounter which pitted Rajon Rondo against Chris Paul. San Antonio Spurs:

San Antonio Spurs opened their season with a 112-108 win over Minnesota Timberwolves, while the 2nd game ended in a 121-108 defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Gregg Popovich’s team started poorly as Blazers controlled the proceedings for almost the entirety of the game, going as much as 20 points ahead in the fourth quarter. Spurs are still trying to find their best formula as new players have arrived while their talisman Kawhi Leonard had left for the pastures new.

DeMar DeRozan finished with 28 points and nine assists in a good performance that should give Popovich some encouragement heading into the long season.

San Antonio Spurs –
DeMar DeRozan – The former Toronto Raptors star is the man to replace Kawhi Leonard. He has done good so far, scoring 28 in the first two games.
LaMarcus Aldridge – The 33-year-old has all the experience in the world and is critical to Spurs’ success this season.
