A Game 1 Loss away from home in the deep Playoffs scenario is not the end of the world for sure. The Celtics also learned that it is Jimmy Butler who will most likely keep them at bay, so yes, they have to do a lot of homework when it comes to stopping. They certainly have the defensive players who can keep it tight both inside and outside, so let us see how they respond to Jimmy in Game 2.
The Heat blocked 12 shots in the last game, Bam had 4, Vincent and Butler had 3 each while Oladipo and Dedmon had one each. On the other end, the biggest positive was Tyler Herro, who dropped 18 points, and even if Butler racked up 41 points, it was overall a balanced effort. Vicent and Strus who were originally the backup guards are starters now and combined for 28 points.
The Celtics saw Tatum going for another big night, scrapping 29 points while Brown had 24. Not having Smart surely hurt their defensive and offensive balance as Derrick White at Point only accounted for 3 points but Payton Pritchard made up for it by dropping 18 off the bench. The other problem was not having Al Horford but Robert Williams has done a great job again and looks healthier. So yes, if Horford and Smart would have played, the defense would have been much better.

Jimmy Butler showed once again why he is the hottest pick when it comes to the Heat and he not only hoisted a bunch of points, but had blocks, rebounds, and assists at a high clip. Vincent and Strus both have raised their stocks meanwhile Tyler Herro reclaimed his scoring prowess. Oladipo is a sort of “hit-and-miss” option whereas Tucker can be a decent floating option.
As expected, Jayson Tatum was the major option and he continues to do much more than just score. Jaylen Brown is another strong option whereas not having Horford again, will hurt the team again. It means that Robert Williams’ value becomes higher and if Marcus Smart returns, he deserves a spot too more often than not. Grant Williams is not that high-yielding but he can bring some bonus prediction every now and then.
