MIL vs BKN Dream11: The Eastern Conference has risen through the ranks and although the top three teams in the league are still from the Western Conference, the gap with the second and third spot teams and the first to second spot team in the East has reduced significantly. The Bulls and Heat have just one fewer win than the Grizzlies in the West. And as these teams rise, the battle from the third-sixth spot is no less intriguing as of now. This means that the Milwaukee Bucks may have some catching up to do as they meet the Brooklyn Nets, they will look to spark something special.
The Bucks have been doing well overall and their win count still puts them in an electric race to the top of the East. Of course, with a talent like Giannis, you can’t be counted as a contender and there are many times when a defensive champion turns up the heat when the Playoffs come closer. How will it be for Milwaukee?
On the other hand, the Nets have been ice cold since late January and with the whole Harden-Simmons trade, they have lost their playmaker. Kyrie Irving may be cleared to play in the home games soon and he has displayed a lot of offensive promise. Can Curry and Irving balance it up with Durant out of the picture? Bucks: Can they make it out of the East East has been showing great growth this season and the Bucks will surely be looking at the picture closely. The Bucks are nowhere near out of the contention for the title and as the title defenders, they must have realized that the league has been a tougher code to crack this time around. Why so? The rise of Suns and Warriors can be a problem in the Finals but before that, Eastern Conference is nowhere near as easy as last season for Giannis’ warriors. Antetokounmpo’s game style is a great fit for the Playoffs when the shooting percentages can see a potential dip so his ability to get inside points makes the Bucks a terrific Playoffs team.
Middleton knows when to turn on the pumps when the Playoffs come to the forefront while Jrue Holiday had some great performances last postseason too. The team has been missing Brook Lopez for a long time now and that has disturbed the roster balance for sure. Bobby Portis has done more than enough to fill in as the starting Center but the bench has been weakened with him in the starting five. Acquiring Serge Ibaka was a decent move by the Bucks as he can fill in for some sharp defensive minutes off the bench. However, I believe someone like Grayson Allen or Jordan Nwora can be the X-Factor down the line.
Nets: No Durant, no wins KD’s absence has totally blown away the Nets, they have lost more than 75% of their games in his absence and there is no doubt that he is huge for them to succeed in the deep East. Kyrie Irving has been a part-time player due to the whole vaccine hoopla but with New York’s mandate lifting soon, he will be a full-time participant. However, the Nets have fallen behind since late January and from being at the top of the Conference, they have fallen to eighth place. This is a dramatic fall indeed and the new year has not brought a great set of memories for the Nets fans. Still, if things fall in place, they can be a force in the Playoffs.
As for this game, the backcourt of Irving and Seth Curry looks fantastic as both can share scoring duties and create space for each other. The problem is that the rest of the unit doesn’t look that sustainable. Andre Drummond doesn’t have the same impact anymore but LaMarcus Aldridge has done well in pick and roll situations. Meanwhile, young Cam Thomas has shown promise but his long-range game is a work in progress. Bruce Brown has done well lately but Kessler Edwards, James Johnson, and Patty Mills haven’t been consistent on the offensive end as such. The team will wait for Simmons and Durant to join the fray, then this team will certainly give opponents a run for the money.
