MIN vs OKC Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Oklahoma City Thunder will look to get back to winning ways when they host a resurgent Minnesota Timberwolves at Chesapeake Energy Arena, in Oklahoma, on Wednesday morning (IST).

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Oklahoma City Thunder’s three-game winning streak came to an end as they lost 98-116 to Washington Wizards at home. The Thunder, however, remained 3rd in the Western Conference with a 25-14 record, just two games away from 2nd placed Golden State Warriors.

The loss was just the 1st instance in the last 12 games where Thunder failed to touch the 100-point mark. They looked short of energy and lacked the usual enthusiasm against the Wizards who dominated the match all night.

However, Oklahoma made a good start as they surged to the 18-7 lead in the first quarter. Steve Adams was the hero as he scored 10 of Thunder’s 18 points in that period. But after that, it was just one-way traffic.

Washington then rallied together to go on a 31-9 run which started in the first quarter and lasted in the 2nd and closed down the half with a 54-50 lead.

The Wiz had another run, 23-12 which was fuelled by Otto Porter’s eight points as the visitors closed down the 3rd quarter at 90-79. Bradley Beal and company then stretched their lead to 20 points in the last quarter to kill hosts’ lingering hopes of making any comeback in the match.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
The last game was supposed to be a big test of Minnesota Timberwolves’ potential but Los Angeles Lakers proved to be nothing more than a G-League team and the Wolves ended up with an easy 108-86 win.

The Showtime were shorthanded by injuries with the likes of LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo all missing out but still, Wolves showed what they can do when they are in the groove. The 22-point win is considered as a big victory, however, despite that, the Timberwolves hierarchy fired their head coach Tom Thibodeau for reasons started boiling in the 2018 off-season.

Jeff Teague’s return from the injury has made the difference as he brings solidarity in the defensive department, while he can also pop up with assists and points. The 30-year-old dropped a game-high 11 assists against Lakers and contributed with 15 points as well.

While Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins both scored the game-high 28 points in the match with Towns also ended up scoring a massive 18 rebounds.

Regular Season Record-
Oklahoma City Thunder: W-25, L-14
Minnesota Timberwolves: W-19, L-21

Players to watch out for:
Russell Westbrook – The only player this season to average triple-double. And even then, the 2017 NBA MVP is underperforming and that’s because of the high standards he has set for himself. But he remains Thunder’s own son, their biggest star despite not hitting the heights this season he is so used to. The 29-year-old is averaging 21.1 points per game this season.
Paul George – Thunder have become more formidable this season because of the form of Paul George. The former Indiana Placers was in the free agency in the off-season but decided to stay despite Lakers circling around him. The 28-year-old is leading the charge for Oklahoma this season, averaging 26.8 points per game.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Karl-Anthony Towns – He was an absolute world-class against the shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers. The 23-year-old dropped a joint game-high 28 points as well as 18 rebounds in the match as Wolves won the game. He is leading the points chart for his team and is dropping points at 22.2 per game this season.
Andrew Wiggins – He dropped 28 points in the last game as well, taking his season average to 17.3 points per game. He is just 23 and is a very talented player.
