NOP vs POR DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Portland Trail Blazers host New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA match at Moda Center, in Oregon, Portland, on Friday morning.

Portland Trail Blazers:

Portland Trail Blazers beat James Harden-less Houston Rockets 104-85 to improve their record to 5-2 in the regular season. Now the NBA schedule has given them an early chance to avenge the last season’s playoff loss against New Orleans Pelicans. Yes, the Pelicans are going to visit Oregon and they will be taking Anthony Davis with them who terrorized Blazers in the playoffs last season.

But whatever the case, the Moda Center will be extra motivated against the visitors for this particular clash. After all the New Orleans Pelicans are the team which dismantled the Blazers in a first-round sweep last season when Anthony Davis destroyed them, Jrue Holiday outplayed them, the Pelicans’ strategy suffocated them and Portland’s own lineup scuppered their progress.

However, the Blazers look a different beast this season. They look fast and seems at the moment that they could outscore any team at the moment.

Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic had a good against the Rockets as both scored 22 points in a match where Blazers never trailed against the struggling Rockets. A tough fight awaits the visitors.

New Orleans Pelicans:

New Orleans Pelicans started the season with four consecutive victories.

And they looked a real threat in the West for all the teams vying for the ultimate glory. But Anthiny Davis’ untimely injury did reveal that the team is too dependent on their MVP candidate as Pelicans lost the next two games.

However, against Warriors Davis did return to the lineup and accumulated 41 minutes on the court, 2nd highest in the match. But he looked a bit rusty as he missed the shots from angles he would bury in his sleeps on some other nights.

For Pelicans, the next game comes against an in-form side who is scoring for fun these days. But the visitors should be confident heading to Portland after sweeping Blazers in the playoffs last season.

Regular Season Record-
Portland Trail Blazers: W-5, L-2
New Orleans Pelicans: W-4, L-3

Players to watch out for:

Portland Trail Blazers:

Damian Lillard – Tied for the game-high with teammate Jusuf Nurkic in the last game as he scored 22 points in the match. Well, if you are looking for a star fantasy player for this match, you may not need to look past Lillard. The 28-year-old has had two monsters game where he touched the 40s, taking his average to 29.6 for the first seven games.

CJ McCollum – Another star in the Portland Trail Balzers’ team, McCollum is a consistent performer in Portland. He is averaging 19.3 this season, making him a good team player in your fantasy team.

New Orleans Pelicans:

Anthony Davis – Probably one of the best Basketball players of the current generation. He is Pelicans’ face and the player the franchise must hold on to, to grow further. However, Davis is a talent too big not to have the coveted titles in his kitty and considering the order in the Western Conference, he has to pull the rabbit out of the hat to stop the likes of Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets from triumphing the West.
In a nutshell, Davis is a superstar you can’t afford to miss in your Dream Fantasy team.

Nikola Mirotic – Has to take the responsibility of scoring if Anthony Davis is not around. But he is a man who, more often than not, gives the perfect help to the main man in New Orleans. Mirotic should be in your team because he could fetch you some good points.

Jrue Holiday- He is a good package actually. The points, assists and the rebounds, you are set to earn well in every department if Holiday is in your team.
